I accomplished something major yesterday. I jogged the entire length of my local park and back (apprx 2 mi). I didn't even plan on it. I was just in the mood to try and push myself a little and I wound up doing the whole park! I was sooo proud of myself because I never ever thought I'd jog again.
Today I am sore. No sore than I've been in the past. Sore enough to hurt when I move my legs and stairs and getting in-out of a car is very hard to negotiate. Obviously too sore to workout today, not even power walk.
I ate really healthy and within my caloric allowance for the day. So why do I feel guilty about not working out today??? Am I being absurd or is it that I've finally got "the bug" back after all these years??
Though the soreness itself is not a health concern I do have one small concern. Yesterday when I told my dad I jogged he got nervous (high blood pressure runs in our family) and made me take my blood pressure. The blood pressure was great but my RHR was 89 the first go around and 92 the next. This was about 10 hours after my jog. My dad got all nervous. Is this something I should be concerned about? I've never thought of it until now that I'm getting older (39) and dad made such a big deal of it.

Welcome to the board :)
Comgrats to you for jogging those miles like you di, YaY!
I would speak to your doctor to see what they have to say about RHR ..
Wise you did rest day though ..
See what the doctor has to say & go for there.
Perhaps not every day but something in between.
