heart rate question

Hello,

I was wondering where I can find a good heart rate calculator. My treadmill had a heart rate monitor and I would like to know around what numbers I should be aiming for?? I read somewhere that to get the most out of your exercise is to be in a certain heart rate.

Thanks,
Sneha

Hi Sneha,
Do you mean one online or for RL (real life) ?
If you mean for RL .. I would start with your local pharmacy.
They might even have them there.
HTH :)

Hi Sneha, good to see you!

Here are a couple of links I found that may help:

http://yourtotalhealth.ivillage.com/recalculating-numbers-in-fitness-programs-stress-tests.html
http://dftools.ivillage.com/healthtools/calc_thr.cfm

Also, it is good to talk to your doctor too to see what they think your heart rate should be.

I do it the old fashioned way - I just use my forefingers on the side of my neck for 10 seconds then multipy by 6.
