Gaining Weight while GERD/ Prisoner-like

Recently, I have been suffering from GERD and am trying to come to terms with it.I am 24 yrs old, 5'10, and 150lbs.I tend to eat 5-6 times a day. If I lower my eating to 3 times a day, will I be able to maintain my weight, and even put on muscle weight, as long as I work out, and eat fats, carbs, and proteins? Can the act of me eating less times a day, help me out with GERD as I won't be eating as often? Also, prisoners only get 3 meals a day, yet they are able to work-out and maintain a muscular body as long as they work out. Do you think I can make this work?

I think the only problem with eating 3 times a day will be that you will be hungrier and possibly tend to eat more.
Weight loss is simple - calories in must be less than calories expended.
I do like the suggestions Liz gave you.
Perhaps you could speak with a nutritionist & see what they say.
Also it has been suggested the more smaller meals better for you.
Let's see what others have to say as well.
Whatever you decide I hope you'll let us know & how it goes :)
Does eating less really help your GERD?

So sorry you are having to deal with this ::sigh::
Then yes you might be better off with the three meals a day.
Let us know what you decide :)
I have heard that those dealing with GERD usually do better with more frequent smaller meals.
Aw, I'm sorry I misunderstood, trymester.
