How to tone up my thighs and bum

How can you tone up your legs and bum. I walk quite a bit and do my best at my exercise videos but my thighs and bum never seem to tone up. What am I doing wrong? What can I do?

I work on my lowerbody with walk lunges, lunges, skips, knee lifts, squats, squat kicks. Those are good...and if you do them a minute each, you can get 6 minutes worth. If you do them 3 times a day you get 18 minutes worth a day.
The old standards for working the legs & bum are squats and lunges.
Both are HARD, but work wonders if you keep them up.
You mentioned you are already walking,
How far? How fast?
Maybe it's time to kick it up a notch
add in some faster interval walks (or jogs)
and maybe go a little longer.
If you have access to it an elliptical they help to shape that area too.
It perks it up if you KWIM.

Also maybe it is time to kick your walking up a bit .. you think ?

Looks like you've got some great ideas - for me, walking does the trick - using inclines/hills if possible.
