Hello All - I've been on another IVillage board for some time and I thought I'd shoot on over here for some suggestions. My biggest problem area is the abdominal area. I'm not overweight, in fact I'm happy with my weight, but my stomach is still flabby. I have fairly strong abdominals but it seems like every time I eat a meal my stomach puffs out if I don't purposely hold it in, plus I have some loose skin. I've had 2 c-sections. The rest of my body is relatively toned - I'm not a hardbody but am satisfied with how I look and feel at nearly 40. Well, except for my abs. Any thoughts or suggestions as to how I can firm it up? BTW I go to the gym and do ab exercises but maybe I don't do the right ones or enough of them.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Lizziebethsue - "Actually I have very flat abs, I just have 30 lbs of fat over the top of them LOL" - thanks for that :o) - love your sense of humor!!! I've been doing a type of sit up where I bring my legs in when my torso comes up and I don't let my feet touch the ground. Recently I've added a medicine ball. I also use that twisting machine for obliques and lastly I lay on a workout bench face-up, grab the bench behind my ears and with legs relatively straight bring them up from near the floor to up toward the ceiling - hips off the bench. I think the loose skin is here to stay from being stretched out but the puffy belly is still a tough one for me. I've been working out off and on for about 13 years and am trying to be consistent now. I am very conscientious about what we eat. Don't get me wrong, we have plenty of treats, but I try to make sure they are as natural as humanly possible. I am totally anti artificial flavors, colors & preservatives. I'm definitely not a health-nut eating only sprouts and tofu, but I really believe the more natural, the better. I guess from here I will check out the Ab Guru's site. Maybe I'll be enlightened :oD

Sounds like a really solid ab program,
Maybe you do just need to change it up
or learn to love your "new" abs.

I always say "I worked hard for these abs, I bore 3 fine children"
well to fine children, that last one is tough!

Sounds like you have a great snacks for the family
I should be that motivated too.
