So we still eat the same amount of food when we consume sugary drinks ..

I drink sweet tea but that's about all. I try not to rely on it for all my thirst quench, rotating it with water.

At the most I drink about 4 cups of coffee, so 8 teaspoons of normal sugar.
Maybe you could bring it down to 3 cups of coffee one day :)
