How do you beat the summer heat?

  • By wearing lightweight clothing & other fabrics
  • By taking a dip in the pool
  • By drinking lots of water
  • By finding/staying in the shade
  • By cranking up the air conditioning!

I chose combination. I wear the light clothing, drink lots of water, sit in front of the fan.

It is a combo of taking a dip in the pool, cranking up the A/C, drinking lots of fluid, and staying indoor or in the shade.

We enjoy the traditional siesta at our home.
up early - do what needs to be done,
nap during the heat of the afternoon,
enjoy the cooler evening hours.

drinking tons of water helps too.

I voted combination. I wear light clothing, drink a lot of water, and I definitely stay out of the sun. I also keep my windows and blinds closed so that the sun does not enter my house and I find that it helps quite a bit.

Next year I will definitely invest in a air conditioner that goes on the wall, as it doesn't blow on you, it is exactly like central air. It is a little pricey but it is a great investment.

So far here in this part of Canada, we don't have to worry about the summer heat as I will have been having is continous rain, and more rain. They have announced rain right into next weekend. That is really yucky!!!!

I agree Fran, I love to sleep with an open window, there is nothing like the fresh air and that blowing breeze if we are lucky to have one.
