Two Attitude Adjustments That Drop Pounds for Good

As part of her behavioral approach to healthy eating, Caryl Ehrlich, author of Conquer Your Food Addiction, has developed the Caryl Ehrlich Program, which cultivates healthy eating habits that last a lifetime. She encourages people to change how they look at food. "We eat because of good news, bad news, no news and during the news," she says. "You can't do all those things. We have given food an importance and a theory that it is entertainment, when it is not." Through her program, Ehrlich suggests simple daily habits. Two examples are:

1. Always have a glass of water at your side.
2. Take smaller bites.

Ehrlich says these and other habits can lead to a changed attitude and a healthy weight.

Oh my gosh!! That is what I do ! All the time with all my meals! I get my water in and it helps to keep me from over eating extra servings for my meals.

That is so good to read. I am going to continue this for a long time. Thanks Hugs.

I tell this to my neighbor all the time and she just thinks I am nuts, but I am doing fine.

I think it is the small things that change our eating for the better.
I believe that you should savour your treats, make them an experience
not just shove them in your mouth.

And find different ways to celebrate.
Not every thing we do requires a dinner out

When I'm eating the right foods..which is most of the time..I don't think about food until I'm physically hungry. Then I sometimes get annoyed as I don't want to stop what I'd doing and eat.

When I'm off track..like weeks when we've eaten out too much..my mind tends to wander towards food when I'm not hungry. Hate that! Learning from Dr. Oz, that tells me I've gotten sugar in my system and need to get it out. Then I'm back on track and okay again.

I always have water or Crystal Light beside me..and I drink it too..LOL!! Right now I have a glass of cabernet beside me..and I'm drinking that too..all of it..LOL!!

I take smaller bites and put the fork down and sit back between bites.

If we just didn't love eating out so much, I'd be a skinny minnie!! ;-)
