I said loss of inches. If I've lost inches, I know I've lost weight. My clothes will fit better and that will make me want to be even more active because I feel good not only physically, but spiritually, too.

As my clothes are getting looser, I start thinking how maybe sometime in the future I can get off the meds for blood pressure and diabetes. That is my real goal. Someday....someday.

As you listed all the benefits for you ..
I thought .. well then I know you can & will do this.
I hear determination coming through if that makes sense, LOL
It's like the dominoe effect you know ?
One thing leads to another & starts with our small steps.
Hang in there Gf .. you shall succeed & reap the benefits & rewards :)

That is true Bev,
If we lose inches .. then perhaps losing weight as well.
However not always the case you know ?
When our clothes fit better .. we sure do feel better overall.
I think if you find a plan, stick to it

Thank you Hugs, you are always so encouraging. I am determined and here is something I started just tonight. After having a positive thinking talk with hubby, I decided to put sticky notes around my house saying, "I want to be thin." This is a mindset change from, "I don't want to be fat." I am going to devour those words..I want to be thin..and live them every day and that will keep me going towards my goal. I can see it in my mind..I can feel what it feels like..I am living it..I am doing it!!

AARGH! I had a reply and then lost it!

I just wanted to tell you I'm here to stay. Losing weight and getting off the meds is just one incentive. I'm also a little paranoid since DH's heart attack. I am just as overweight as he was and it really scares me. The biggest incentive is that little 8 month old addition we have to our family. She just lights up when she hears me say "Hey, Bug!" I've called her that since the day she was born on purpose. I knew that a lot of our time would be phone time and I wanted her to know who was talking. It worked! I don't want to be one of those grandmas that just sit and watch their babies. I want to be able to keep up with Cara and play along with her. I've got healthier menus and proper portions pretty well under control. It's the being active every day part that I have to work on. I keep telling myself to just take extra steps every day and before you know it I'll be doing things I didn't think I could do anymore. I am going to do it because I'm planning on being around for a long time.

Here's a pic of my adorable incentive.

Reading what you wrote gave me the chills if that makes sense.
You certainly do have an extra special incentive.
What a real cutie, just precious.
Awesome idea on *Hey bug* & her now knowing *you*
Wow hope I can remember that some day for if ever
OK so healthy food isn't the issue ... congrats on doing well with it.
I strongly suggest you post goals in the daily goal thread.
What kind of activities/exercise have you been doing ?
Come on now .. let us help :)

Hi Hugs!

I will start posting, I promise. It will have to be in the next day or two, though. I was surprised by a monthly visit and I'm at that age where it's flood or famine and I'm afraid it's the flood this month. It's been all I could do to get out of bed and function somewhat in the house the last couple of days. Luckily it stops just as quickly and then I'm just left a little tired. Should be passed the worst of it by tomorrow at the latest.
