Eco-Friendly Fitness

running How green is your exercise routine? If you're spending a lot of time at the gym, it may not be as eco-friendly as you think. From treadmills to water bottles to the gas it takes to get there, there are lots of ways your workout could be bad for the planet. Fortunately, there are some easy changes you can make that will allow you to get fit and enjoy the earth.

Ok, so no disposable water bottle...
I walk not run on the treadmill (no running period) & it's switched off until you switch it on when you use it...
No driving to the gym...
My work-out gear is pretty much just the clothes I've put on for the day.

I prefer just walking out the front door and going for my run.


That said, I do use the gym now & again,
If I sleep in or it's just to hot outside.
Also try to run intervals at least twice a month on the treadmill
so I can get times correct.


The gym is a bit of a drive for me, but I try to bundle it with other errands
so I'm over on that side of town for a reason.

So my workout is bad for the environment in the winter.
