Just Wondering......

This question kept me wondering and puzzling over something. When everyone started their workout journey and they do not like to exercise or even hate to, after doing it for so many months and going into 1 to 2 years, etc., do any of you still hate to exercise or have that feeling still?

My neighbor started in Oct 2008, and she still hates to exercise other than the treadmill or up to 2 minutes of bicep curls.

For me , I did start off not  unmotivated but it got better, then I was in the flabbergasted stage. Eight months later I was a lot better and motivated. Today I am still motivated.

I hated exercise when I first started (been going pretty strong for a few months, started slow about a year ago.) I was clumsy, uncoordinated, totally out of shape. Now, I find I like it, crave it even. I'm constantly amazed at how far my body has come and what it can do. There are exercises that I just don't like however and probably will never lol. I hate boring plain old cardio on a machine. The stairmaster is torture, although the elliptical isn't bad. I also hate running and anything that involves my tricepts or lack thereof lol. So I suppose it as long as I can do something I like I stay motivated.

Ok...That is similar to my way of doing workouts. I do find that I have to change often and find something
different. Arm workouts are another thing, too. I do find though that I can do things easier when doing the arm workouts.

Yes craving was something I was wondering about. I notice my neighbor that even though she walks the treadmill everyday, she may be losing that craving feeling of wanting to do other ones to change. She is the type that really hates to workout. She will do the walks though because she does feel better with her back.

Thanks for your ideas.

I hate to be a downer, but I'll admit that I do not like exercise--never have and probably never will. It doesn't matter what I do, I just don't get any joy out of it. I do, however, get satisfaction when I'm seeing results.

The worst time I have with it is when something happens in my life that takes me out of my regular routine. Then, it's really hard for me to get back into it. But, if I go on a regular basis, I can usually do it without too much dread.

Actually, it's

I understand your feeling...really. My neighbor is the same way. The thing is I just wondered
how it is for many people who start and how do they feel after doing it for a length of time.
I am that way with running. I do not like running and never will but I will compromise and do
the joggingwalking. After doing my workouts I do notice I can do things better now than before.

I asked my neighbor and she notices nothing other then the lost inches and a few pounds.
She feels nothing and I thought it puzzling. She is also doing a little arm exercise and wants to
do more now. I find that strange especially when she does not like to do any more exercises.
I may have to ask her at another time.

Great question Aileen,
For me it's not a matter of not liking/hating it.
I prefer to walk with someone else.
So when my buddy isn't around ..
I um, tend to lack motivation ::blush::

Hi Hugs....Well that question was zooming around yesterday after visiting my neighbor. I told Ting, Adora and Wildflower that my neighbor mentioned she wanted to up her reps of bicep curls everyday. I let her know she could do a different workout for arm, but she was negative of doing any more exercises. I thought that it was strange that she wanted to do that especially when she was contradicting herself by wanting to do more curls.

After starting my journey in 2006, I do not have that attitude about not working out anymore. I lost that attitude in 8 months, but she still has that and it is 10 months.

I was never physically active even when I was thin.
