My endurance really stinks!

I have been working out regularly for a really long time. I do 30 minutes of cardio at each workout but by the time I'm done I feel like I can't take another step on the treadmill or elliptical. Maybe I am working too hard and wearing myself out? Maybe I should pace myself better?

I just feel like I should be able to get through a 30 minute cardio workout without feeling beat everytime when I'm done.

I've lost weight, so it does work. I think I need to increase my time, though.

Hey Ting,
I can relate ..
While you may need increase your time ..
One thing to consider ..
When you are finished .. how long does it take you to recover ?
Meaning feeling back to fine/ok after your workout ?
Since you are doing well .. recovery time I bet is less than when you first started :)

My first questions would be do you go all out the whole 30 minutes?
Do you take days off between workouts?

Most runners alternate a hard run with an easier slower run,
They don't do back to back hard runs to avoid the beat-up feeling.

To increase endurance many use an interval system
run at your fastest pace - 30 sec for about 1/4 mile
then 1/4 - 1/2 mile at a very easy pace
repeating the series for 6-8 hard runs.
After

Thanks, Hugs! You're right, it is taking less time for me to recover. By the time I get to the locker room and jump into the shower, I feel normal again. I noticed today that my legs got tired, and I think that's the issue. My heart rate and lung capacity

Hi Nadine! Great to see you too.

I think you have hit the nail on the head. I need to decrease the resistance. I feel like my legs and rear end

I think your last suggestion would work well. I should try a less intensive, longer work out one day a week, and I think I'll do that on the day when I don't do any weights. I'll have more time to devote to cardio on those days. I also think my body instinctively knows that it's supposed to be done when I hit the 30 min. mark.

I do take breaks during the week. I usually only exercise four days. But, I do go all out for the whole 30 minutes. That's probably part of the problem.

Thanks for the suggestions!
