Something a bit different for the QOTW ~

Most of us know how it takes 21 days to form a new habit.
This will go along with our new *Fall into Fitness* Challenge for September..

Starting today, *here* in this thread/post ..

Commit to making/forming a new habit ..
Or changing one.
Just needs to be one for the next 21 days.

What healthy habit will you commit to doing for the next 21 days?
After you've posted it ..
Share how you did in the daily exercise post ..

So what is it going to be for you?

Looking forward to seeing many of us changing, making new healthy habits together :)

Hey Bev...this does make one think about things, doesn't it.

How late is your late snack? Yes there are the healthy snacks.

Have you tried the non or low fat fig newtons? Of course even if it says low or non fat, I still portion them. Drink a cup of water before your snacks.

Hummus with carrots?

Fruits?

Hi!

Yeah, I know there are healthy versions, but the late night snack is my worst. Hubby wants a pizza or those yummy, warm, mozzarella bread sticks from the pizzaria. Ice cream is another of his favorites. If chips are in the house, they are almost automatically reached for. I know better. I really do. I also know there are plenty of healthy things I can have a little of late at night, but I don't go for those. I just have to get mean to myself at that time of night and say no. I've already informed hubby night time snacks will be eaten by his lonesome from now on. Now if I can just stick to that. It's never easy. I love food and I love to eat it at any time of the day. Daylight hours are pretty well under control. I'll get these nighttime hours wrangled, too. It just may take a while.

I can so relate Bev.
I like a little sweet before bed too.
I usually have a cream saver or werthers caramel
after I finish cleaning up the kitchen.
I get a sweet without to much damage.
Good luck with your habit.

I have been having problems with iVillage all day,
Slow loading pages and not allowing me to post the responses.
I think it's just one of those days!

Or you know what? You can make them smaller instead of eliminating them, but if you cannot then it is best to eliminate them. My neighbor has a hard time with portioning things. He can eat 2 plates of food. He did it last week before my eyes.

I understand it is hard though. It was rough for me at first, but I got used to it now.

Thanks, Sweetrose. I never used to eat late at night. I slept better and just generally felt better without those snacks. I think I will try to go back to doing without, but if I can't I will do better at choosing what I eat. Healthier and a very small portion. Tonight I had a cup of hot chocolate made with skim milk and sugar free Nestles Quik with just a couple of drops of vanilla extract added. I took a small homemade oatmeal raisin cookie to have with it. I'm totally satisfied. I think I did well tonight.
