Losing Weight Is Only As Difficult As You Make It

Ashley F., NeverSayDiet User

You don't have to deprive yourself of the foods you love. Moderation is the key. If you have people around you that don't want you to succeed, let them see your success and remind them of your healthy eating and what you expect from them. I have people in my life that don't understand ''clean eating'' and how important it is for me and my family. They were always out to sabotage me as much as they could. I had to finally put my foot down and let them know how it is. They respect me more now, since they have seen the transformation I have went through. 100 pounds lost and only 35 more to go! They now cheer me on and are my biggest fans. You have to make sure that you have a good support system, and at the same time let the people around you know what you are doing and what they can do to support you in your weight loss goals. Sometimes it may be necessary to avoid those "negative nellies" sometimes, but if you stand up for yourself, you will see that you will earn their respect and they will respect your choices

I agree with that item Hugs. Sometimes at family dinners I just want to eat my portions and my mother would be sitting next to me putting another slice of meat on my plate. Or my mother in law would pass the last 2 or 3 appetizers in the bowl in my direction. I do not deprive myself of the food, I do eat them just in

Well she on the thin side so she is fine. She does keep mentioning that our family has history of cholesterol, diabetes, etc. and I do tell her that is why I am doing this for controlling and to keep those things from happening. She has a hard time understanding

Losing weight is sometimes as difficult as the medications you're taking too. Last night I talked to my DH about how much harder it has become for me to lose weight for weeks now. Then the light bulb went on! I googled side effects of a medication I'm taking and some of the side effects are....

water retention
weight gain
fatigue
drowsiness

And many

That is true about medications. My brother has asthma and with his medication, he gained.

He keeps his weight in control by walking the treadmill.

I agree that you need to avoid or ignore those who try to get you to eat when you know you shouldn't or constantly offer the foods you shouldn't be eating. Not always an easy thing for sure.

I struggle with weight loss for a different reason. Age and hormones. As we grow older, we lose the good hormones that keep us thin, supple and energetic in our younger years. Finding a good balance with the proper hormone replacement isn't easy. I eat healthy, watch my portions, exercise and do all the right things yet

I agree with that. I do lose fast, but I gain fast too.. I eat everything with my band, just healthy food has to be eaten slower, the "junk" goes right down. dam. lol
