Is there any vital benefit to eating bread? I'm trying to cut back on carbs, my doctor suggested by 25% and I've cut way back on bread. But I'm wondering if I need to eat bread at all? Right now I'm eating Pepperidge Farm's 100% Whole Wheat Very Thin. Its like micro mini bread but it works. I ca still have toast, although I've cut waaay back on that, and this morning I think I'm going to have an egg sandwich but I'm considering cutting it out completely.

I'd say that as long as you get your fiber elsewhere, it's ok to cut out bread. I almost never eat bread either. If you do have bread I think a slice of whole grain is best.

You definitely need the fiber in it, and the kind of bread you are eating helps keep you fuller, longer.
