My First Three Months

After starting my journey and after the Winter holidays and eating the yummy things, I decided to buy a mini stepper to try. I was a beginner and did not understand when the Sports Authority clerk told me if I do other workouts...or just did not pay attention that well. I was focused on the stepper and felt it could help me and I do not have to walk which I still felt unmotivated in doing. I used it for a month and when I weighed myself, I was shocked. My weight stayed the same. I used the stepper but not enough to show any results. I was worried and did not know what to do. I decided to get dvd's to try. I did buy 2. One workout was too vigorous and I injured my foot. I had to stop using the dvd workout. Another was a walking dvd, but still not motivating enough. I still used it for awhile and I still continued my outdoor walks.

I tried to get my neighbor at the time to be a walkbuddy. Wrong. She hates to exercise, so for the 3 months I walked alone, but I was determined.

It did not work right, maybe that was the cause, too. I threw it away Hugs.

You threw away your stepper??!! Did I read that right? Did you try to give it away first?

You're exercising..whatever kind you do..and that's a good thing! You're watching what you're eating too I assume?

Oh the stepper...that was when I used it when I started my journey in Oct 2006-2007. The stepper broke for some reason when I used it. ...probably the wrong way. I was just letting others know my starting journey was not easy. I was having the same hardships of motivation and inspiration.

Yes my beginning was a hard one. Even though I did not have too much to lose ...a little over 20 pounds, I did have the motivation problems. I still have the moments of being not in the mood, those moments do pass quickly once I start my hulahoop, so that is good.

You are hulahooping right Julie?

Good on the hulahooping Julie. Do you walk and hulahoop at the same time. I do that and walking and hulahooping is a workout in itself, so is running in place with the hulahoop and twirling it around. I learned how to do them this year. I learned more but I will tell you later.

For the Leslie Sansone walks, you are walking in place mostly doing knee lifts, walking in place, kicks, side steps. Just 4 things and you do not need much room.

I did them in my 2nd phase of my journey. Maybe I will write the 2nd phase later on.

Yes I did not have the easy start. Plus no walking buddy, so did it by myself. It felt long, too Nadine, but got better.
