Weight Loss Aids

I'm in another weight loss group on cafemom and it seems like so many of them use weight loss aids. What do you think about them? Do you use them? I'm very hesitant to use anything like that but maybe I'm just crazy.

They are tempting , aren't they Dizzfrizz....because you want your weight to go down fast. I know how good they look.

I decided nothing can really do it that fast. It may for a short while, but if you still eat the same, you will gain everything back. Also , you never know the side effects for you. What is alright for one person, may not be good for you. There are many diets out there, too. My neighbors are on different diets. I chose the portion way with the workouts, which is best. It is slower and I can see the weight going down better and I was toning the muscles.

Does that help you?

No help needed. I'm just uncomfortable with them and wondered if you all used them. Everything I've ever learned about exercising and weight loss has NOT included "helps" like that. In my mind, either you change the way you eat or you don't lose weight long term. That is part of why it has taken me so long to lose weight. I haven't been ready to change the way I was eating.

I for one do not use diet pills or anything like that. I am sure everyone else is not into that sort of "thing" either.

Changing the way you eat is hard for everyone Dizzfrizz. Not everyone can do it. We all struggle with that everyday. Only ones who are really determined can do this....even for those few it is not easy.

Take things slow at a time Dizzfrizz. Nothing can be done at the snap of one's finger. You will not lose weight instantly. My brother in law did it fast, but only ate

I apologize if I was offensive as that wasn't my intent. I'm not trying to be critical of anyone who is attempting to lose weight. Heaven knows it took me long enough to even attempt it. So many of them talk about the latest this or that and it seems like many of them use aids and I wondered if you ladies did or not. I thought maybe I was wrong in thinking that isn't a long term route to go. I apologize if my post sounded condescending or critical. I really didn't mean it that way. This is all just coming out all wrong on my part.

So many people looking for a quick fix :(

I am not a big fan of diet aids.
I think they don't address the underlying problem of
eating to much and moving to little.

I believe that in order to live the healthiest life possible you need to eat right and move.

Oh it is ok Dizzfrizz. I understand. No worries. I do not use the weight loss aids and do not intend to.

You did not offend anyone. You wanted to know and it is good to ask.

I just did the walking for a whole year and learned about portioning a year later and that is what helps. Portioning the snacks, and meals...that is what we all try to do.

We are all okay on this and if you are having questions ...keep asking. We are all learning. Someone will come up with a good answer too to help you. You never know.

That was a good question by the way Dizzfrizz.

Those aids sure are tempting aren't they dizzfrizz ?
We all would love that quick fix ..
I sure would ::blush::
Sadly I believe we all know they don't really *work*
Nothing like good healthy eating & exericse to *really* get where we want.
Often though they do help .. but it's not a *forever* thing.
Good question though & glad you asked :)

From what I'm hearing/reading about them is that some of them do work while you're taking them, but as soon as you stop, you balloon back up.

I don't keep up with what the latest fad aid is now, but all of the ones I've researched in past years are scary to me. They all seem to put a strain on the heart as I recall along with other bad things. You are wise in listening to your feelings of being hesitant and not taking them. As you know, if we want good results, we have to do the work! There's no easy ride!

Good question, glad you asked!

Hi, Dizzfrizz :o)

I don't use any myself - there is just too much uncertainty.
