At my house, you can count on me overeating when I ...........

  • am talking on the phone.
  • am watching TV.
  • am sitting at my computer.
  • am coping with my emotions.
  • am socializing with my friends.
  • am multi-tasking.
  • am bored out of my wits.
  • have the worst case ever of PMS.
  • Are you kidding? My problem is.... (please explain)
  • I do more than one thing. (share with us)

I voted ...Are you kidding. When I was overweight, I was not getting motivated enough to doing more workouts.

I voted are you kidding....

I have got the eating portion of healthy down. I am really having trouble with the exercise part. I find lots of excuses to get out of exercise. I'm still forcing myself to get going. It definitely doesn't come naturally yet and I backslide. I'm getting there though.

When I'm bored. I find myself standing in front of the fridge or the cupboard looking for a quick fix!

For me it's a combination of things - boredom, anger, pms, socializing when food just sits in front of you & you keep picking at it even though you're not even hungry anymore, emotions, stress, sometimes while watching tv.

I guess perhaps there really is hope for me after all then! I am very pleased with all I've learned and put into practice as far as healthy eating goes. Sure, DH and I sometimes splurge and eat something we shouldn't, but it's getting fewer and farther between times.

I've proven to myself that it's the exercise I now need to work on. Twice we've gone on vacation and with all the walking, hiking, and swimming we do when we aren't home, I've come back two clothing sizes smaller. I'm working at getting tougher on myself about my activity level. It'll come. I'm feeling better all the time.

Well at least you started the eating better first and now you got it going good. Now it is the activity part like you said. You already notice the difference of more activity with your smaller sizes.

Bravo to you and continued success on getting the activity going.

Before you learned about your portioning
Did you nibble at all or just eat to much at meals?

I know we need exercise to lose weight,
But eating to much doesn't help either :)

It takes a while for the exercise habit to take
I find that until you find what you really love
You will resist it.
For instance when it's swimming day
I can't ever get ready,
But I'm up at the crack of dawn to lace up my running shoes.

I hope you can find the thing that "moves" you!!

You and me both Cappy.
I think I can recite the entire contents of my pantry by memory
I've spent so much time staring at it.
I think I'll move my crochet stuff into that area,
Maybe I'll get the hint and use my hands for something useful.
