Lose Weight by Combining

Exercise can help you lose weight, but you have to couple fitness and food—a recent study shows that what you eat controls up to 75 percent of your weight-loss success. So, remember to get in your five servings of fruits and veggies a day along with your workout

Do you know this? Yep. I've tried doing one at a time, but I now know I need to combine both

Do it? For the most part yep. I too have trouble finding a balance (esp. when I work out intensely), but I'm usually ok.

Hi Julie since I have been maintaining around the 120ish for a year now, I thought it would be hard, too.

I realize that sticking to that portion meals and working out the same length will do it. Maybe it is different for others...I do not know. My neighbor told me she did calorie counting before with the start of her walking and she did lose 5 pounds. For some reason she has the thinking that calorie counting and portioning is the same, but I know it is not really the same. She walks the same 30 minutes a day and that is all. Now with all the Spring and Summer eating ,she gave up the calorie and still walks the 30 min., and she does notice her weight has now stopped dropping. She knows she has to give up something or increase something to change it which she is not willing to do.

I am well aware of the statistics and that I need to do both
Problem is I'm usually doing only one well at any given time.
At least I'm maintaining - not gaining!

I think it's hard for many to understand this Aileen,
Like with your neighbor ..
While exercising is great of course ..
Foods need to be watched as well.
Glad you finally figured it out
Let's hope your neighbor does eventually as well :)

Does take some balancing & thinking doesn't it Julie,
You have come far & learned a lot ..
Now look how well you are doing .. YaY You!
As for your maintaining .. keep doing what you're doing.
It *should* allow you to maintain & not gain ;)

Being aware is half the battle Liz,
Not gaining is awesome as well ..
Now to put both into practice at once will really help you :)
