Calorie Question

My favorite breakfast is sauteed bell peppers, onions, 1/2 potato, a serving of sausage, and one egg all mixed together. I'm wondering how many calories I get rid of by rinsing my sausage before eating it. Anybody have any idea how much that helps?

Never heard of rinsing sausage. Not sure what kind of sausage you eat, but a suggestion would be to try turkey sausage. I'm a pretty picky eater and I don't really even notice the difference. Now the veggie sausage though is gross!

Nope that would not work Dizzfrizz. What kind of egg are you using?
Have you tried Egg Beaters? It is low in calories if you are determined.

Good questions Dizzfrizz.

Dont think rinsing sausage would eliminate any calories. How about eating chicken or turkey sausage?

I'm not rinsing my meat in order to lose calories. I've ALWAYS rinsed my meat. It gets a TON more grease off than just draining it. As I was rinsing it this morning, I was just curious. I'm not actually subtracting any calories from my calculation. But there is no way that getting all that grease off has zero impact on the calorie count.

I typically use ground turkey in everything I make. I looked at ground turkey sausage last night and it was just too expensive. Maybe some other time.

When I used to use italian pork sausage for my sausage & peppers, it was suggested to pierce the sausage with the fork & boil it in water before frying it.

How weird that you ask.
This was in a magazine I read last week at the orthodontists office.

Thank you. I had read it somewhere quite a few years ago. I know it was before I was married so its been at least 9! So, I can't get an exact count on my sausage but it is doing good at some level!!
