She Did Not Believe Me

Being with Fitness and Health was a good thing for me along with learning about portioning, water, getting wonder ideas and tips from everyone and losing the 8 pounds from the start. It was up to me to let this go and stop or continue the trip. My decision was to continue with everything. Feb 2008 came and I lost another 4 pounds. I kept going still walking the Leslie Sansone walks and walking outdoors and keeping records on Fitness and health and in a notebook.
One of the ladies at Fitness and Health suggested biking. My unused bike was dusty and cobwebby sitting on the porch, so I cleaned it up and decided to use it since I do not have a stationary bike. My swhusband suggested putting the gears on the lowest setting as if I am riding hilly areas. We do not live on hills so this was a good idea and made me work at pedalling harder. This was added on with my walks everyday. I biked everyday for a long time as if I was training for events.
I saw my neighbor and told her I would be 10 pounds less before summer came. She did not believe me, so I challenged myself. By June I was also learning about using hulahoops from Hugs. I struggled for 1 whole month because I never hulahooped before. By the middle of Jun, I met my neighbor again and told her I was 10 pounds less.
I loss 28 pounds in Jun 2008 and have been controlling since then. Just for fun to see if I could go down one more I challenged myself again and did make one pound down.
This was a good trip, but I am still on the trip. It is not finished yet because I will not go back to my overweight range. I did go for a recent exam for the tests and to show my doctor what a different person I am now when I last saw him in Oct 2007. He had been asking me a few years before 2007 if I did exercise, etc. I told him no.
Then he wrote down "regular exercise and to reduce my weight " would help me prevent other things from occurring. When I saw him recently, he looked at the records from Oct 2007 to this month and realized the weight I loss , he was impressed. He tells patients to reduce and exercise, but I suppose I may have been the one that followed his advice.
That Oct 2007 was something I had to start . I had to do. No one could do this for me. I did it kind of slow, but never gave up and kept going.

WTG, Aileen!!
Challenges can really motivate:)
Hey Patti:
Are you also at your maintaining weight??
Julie
You have showed everyone it really can be done!
Love how you showed your neighbor too
Great story & so glad you shared :)
Thanks Hugs, I think I am more determined than my neighbor is in portioning, and the workouts.
I understand how everyone is different in doing things. For me it was the smaller goals, reaching to that point,
adding another small goal , etc., until the goal was reached.
Thanks Julie. Yes when others think it is impossible, I have to try and do it. My doctor challenged me when he wrote that note to me. I took it and showed him what I changed. I challenged myself to my neighbor too.
It is possible if one is determined to want it.
I weighed 148 in 2006, 140 in 2007, 136 in Feb 2008, Jul
Hi Caroline...thanks. Hay! You got me hooked on the Harry Potter audio books now. I got the 2nd and 3rd one.
