When using ground beef (hamburger) what do you choose.......

  • I'm a tightwad - the cheap stuff
  • a leaner cut, that's still affordable
  • the leanest there is
  • ground turkey all the way
  • it depends ....... how do you choose?
  • I just grab and go - don't really pay attention

I voted ground turkey for my meals. I have been using it for a long time.

I voted that I buy the cheap stuff but I don't buy hamburger very often. I use ground turkey in most things. I don't make turkey burgers but as often as we have hamburgers, it really isn't an issue. But, as we discussed before, I always rinse my meat in hot water after cooking so even the cheap stuff ends up being as low in fat as the lean stuff.

I by the 93/7 stuff. I always drain it. I sometimes buy ground turkey also-I have really started to like the taste of it, especially to make tacos or nachos with.

Generally buy a leaner cut that's still afforable.........generally no less than 80% lean..............usually look for it on sale.

I try not to buy hamburger meat to often as I usually buy mince veal and it has to be lean. The odd time that I buy hamburger meat it also has to be lean.

I use the 93/7 ground turkey,
Once you get used to it,
You don't even notice the difference
(and I add a tablespoon of Worsteshire sauce for color/deeper flavor)
