Move over Fri 5 ~ How about an ANY DAY 8

I missed my chance to post a Friday 5, Saturday 6 or even a Sunday 7 this past weekend, so how about we try an ANY DAY 8 instead:

Hey Marty,
In our area the county fair is in early fall, not long after school begins, and all schools are closed so everyone can attend the fair. It's a huge deal around here.
and I've decided this is a magic thread, because just before 5:30 AM this morning I was posting to you about the heat wave where I said, and I quote,
OMG, yes.
Amy,
the bees are just the beginning of creatures we share our home with not to mention the ghosts, lol. We have mice, lizards, spiders (killed 2 black widows last week)
Ew, ew, ew on the bees!
Marty,
I need to have you around here for some Mr. Fix It jobs!

Lauren Sue,
Without meds,
Thanks Chris,
I went in yesterday in hopes of getting the new shower ceiling in and at least taped and mudded - but no such luck.... There were a slew of little things to be taken care of. Most of which had piled up over the last few days that I've been neglecting my day to day stuff. So I spent 90% of my time doing repairs and maintenance. Gotta keep the tenants and staff happy! Should be able to get back to the project today.
I remember last year when Jenna started school thinking "it's too early!" Wow, it's hard for me to believe how early classes start in your area. In Minnesota, the "norm" is after Labor Day. Our "State Fair" usually runs
Ruben,
You always make me smile. Your answers are so "ruben" and I love them!
and I do believe that fishing reduces your symptoms just as I believe my dedication to pilates reduces mine. they should send us to some University and do a study. We both have slow progressing parkinson's and we've both found unique ways to cope. Maybe then neurologist will begin to give fishing poles and pilates mats to Parkinson's patients :-)
Good luck with those granite countertops. A couple in my church choir just redid their kitchen counters with a beautiful black/gold granite counter top and back splash. Totally changed the look of their kitchen, so much so that they took down the wall paper and repainted to compliment the new counters. We jokingly call the wife "the slave driver" as she keeps her husband very busy with a "honey-do" list since getting those new granite counter tops. The look is so dramatically different from how their kitchen used to look it's making her change everything, she's
Hey Marty,
I agree with Chris: LOVE your answers! You crack me up!
I, too, hope we can flush the funk that is around here! Lots of Positive Vibes and Good Karma needs to be spread around ;-)
Good luck with the renovations to that apartment! You really are quite the handy-man!! My house would keep you very busy with all the renovations it needs, but I guess that's to be expected after nearly 300 years of wear and tear ;-)
As for the heat wave, we may also get a break this weekend. I hope so, as this summer has been a record breaking hot one. I'm hoping we get some good thunderstorms when a small cold front stalls near us tomorrow. We really need the rain!
And, yes, I went cold-turkey on my meds for one day. What shocked me most was that my tremor didn't get as bad as I expected, but the stiffness was horrible and I paid the price for several days after. When I told my neurologist what I'd done and that I was shocked the tremor wasn't worse, she said "I bet you were really stiff". Yep, very much so! The tremor was prevalent, I guess I just expected it to be even more so, but instead it was just a total lock up of the body. My day off from meds wasn't planned, but an interesting experience nonetheless.
My neurologist is contemplating putting me in the hospital for a bit to try to fine tune meds and, quite honestly, give me a break from the stress at home. I'll go back in 2 weeks for a follow up.
Hope you have a great rest of your week and get a break from the heat! BTW, how are the dogs doing with this heat?!?!
