Any country music lover heard of her? She said she's flying under the radar screen for now. An article in the boston herald caught my eyes because of her last name and the quotes attributed to her.

From the newspaper:

Terri Hendrix is a Texan who isn't afraid to write a song linking right-wing Christian fanatics with Muslin extremists in the Middle East

"It's the right thing to question something like corporate domination of the media. It's time for people to wake up and smell the coffee: It's really dangerous for so few people to own everything."

One of Hendrix's few previous political songs, "Sister's Apartment," is overt in its support of gay rights. "Once, in a honky-tonk, a fellow told me if I ever wanted to play in Oklahoma again, I was never to play that song. So the second set, I played the song again and dedicated it to him."

Though Hendrix opposes the war in Iraq, she has been sending her albums to soldiers there since the conflict began.

I like what I read. Just want to know if she knows how to sing and does she sing lots of political songs? I can take so much political songs. She's playing in a town 43 miles away from me this Sunday. I want to know if its worth going to hear her sing. Thanks in advance. *S*

I would have absolutely treasured such a happening!

eastie, that alone is worth driving 40 miles to see her. Worse that could happen is you won't like her music.

I vote 'go.'
