There is no doubt that music is a *huge* influence in my life. Whatever my emotions, music will give me the means to find what is within me and deal with them and any corresponding issues.

Anyone else where music is a *passion*? Which artists/songs push your musical buttons?

Rayeellen, I have a lot of songs that push my "magical buttons" Mostly from the 70's and 80's. Most of the groups are male oriented and very few are female. But, since I'm a butch the male oriented groups bring out the real me. The songs by Cher, her tape "heart of stone" and Melissa Etheridge are two examples of my deeper feelings. I'm really eclectic and it all depends on my mood. I can look at a tape or cd and remember what the songs sound like. And that becomes my frame of mind for the day, or maybe the week.

Thanks for letting me remember that music is a big part of my life.

Hugs.

I don’t have a single artist that pushes my musical button.

A voice like Wynona Judd & lyrics by Sting usually get my attention. Harmonizing like the Indigo Girls also get my attention. I also stop, watch & listen when I hear Audrey Hepburn sings moon river. My favorite version.

I find myself liking songs that isn’t top 10 charts like Missy Starr’s Always, Forever and Tom Rush’s Circle Game and Bonnie Raitte’s I thank you.

Beside, I don't have a musical bone so I guess there's no button to push. *G*

I know exactly what you mean, Raye. Music has been a passion of mine for many years now. I have absolutely loads of CDs in my collection now....thousands of pounds worth. Tori Amos is probably my favourite above all others...songs like Winter, Tear in Your Hand, Marianne, Doughnut Song, Virginia...I could name many of her tracks that strike some sort of chord in me. Others that really appeal are Norah Jones, Heather Nova (particularly her track Winterblue), a newish band called Keane (you heard of them over there yet?), Lenny Kravitz, and Dido.

I could probably sit here all day reeling off names

You are welcome... do you listen to it softly, or play it loud? What Melissa songs do you like?

I like Melissa as well... Come To My Window, Like the Way I Do, and Someone Bring Me Some Water are my favourites.
