I hope they find Raj or the Volvo. Otherwise, it will add an unnecessary burden on you.

Hugs.

Kim,

We went through this with g/f's EX.

My gf being the primary signer on everything and her Ex not paying anything.

For $50.00 we retained a Bankruptcy attny.

You can retain your attny for 6 months in which Volvo cannot contact you.

This can buy you time to either find Raj. or decide if you will actually file

bankruptcy.

Once you file bankruptcy begin immediately to rebuild your credit. You will recieve

many offers for loans and secured credit cards. Take advantage of one or two of these.

(The interest rates will be ugly.)

You borrow or charge only what you know you can pay off each month or so. i.e., gas, groceries and keep the charges small so you do not have to pay to much interest. Keep

Courney's credit impeccable.

In 7 years you have great credit.

This is our 7th year going through this and things are really looking good in our favor.

We chose for my gf to file only on the largest amounts. The rest we have been paying off

with our own credit and loans. It has not always been easy but, We will be debt free

with exception of our own mortgage by Sept. Our goal was Dec.

My gf had to file bankruptcy on a house, boat, jeep and some credit cards that her Ex used to take her other gf's on trips.

We have been paying some of the other joint credit cards off.

You could also retain the lawyer for six months to pay some other things off if you choose not to file and that will give you time to have enough money to start paying the car off.

You did not say where the car is. Does Raj have it? Is it missing too? You should be able to find help tracking it and if you choose to pay for it then you should be able to

take it back.

I am not a lawyer just speaking from experience.

Best of luck to you on this.

Just a thought... is your name on the insurance covering the vehicle? (I won't say it should be ) anyway, if it is... perhaps they have an addy? If not, the vehicle should be registered somewhere...

P.S. Don't worry to much about it until they notify you that they are coming after you.

In the meant time try working on paying off any thing you can. Just pay chunks off

some of your current debts so that those payments will be paid off giving you more

income or at least close to it.

That car is still on your credit report as far as income to pay out ratio.

I am sorry to be on my soap box but having just gone through this for 7 years and soon

to be finished with it is well just exciting.

We picked out certain things to pay down and then pay off. Even if we only paid $10.00

extra that month. Sometimes we would pay anywhere from 10.00 - $100.00 or more off. This

would leave us living lean for the month, so we would play games etc., and eat in for that

month. We went to basic cable and one phone line and used those extra payments towards one

of our debts.

We also had unexpected things along the way like sick pets, roof repairs, plumbing etc,

so it was not always fun. We had some yard sales (which I hate) but made some pretty good

extra money on them to help out.

And we even did some part time work now and then to pay things off.

We got creative and I photographed weddings and g/f just things like that to make extra money

every now and then to pay on something.
