Wishing good karma for Courtney!!! Hoping she will soon feel settled in and sailing

along towards a wonderful future.

You just cannot always listen to family. They mean well but do not always know what's

best.

If I would have listened to my family I would be in Youngstown, Ohio, shlepping bed pans

and married to a guy they thought was good for me.

Of course when I told them that I was going into the Navy they had a cow, and then when I told them I was getting out they had another cow.

Just goes to show you have to make your own decisions and they will have to deal with it.

Best to you both.

Sending tons of good karma Courtney's way...((((Courtney))))

I was in the same position in a way 10 years ago this month. Moved to Tennessee from Georgia to begin grad school. Was counting on getting a job or assistantship when I got here. Had a good job prospect working for one of the vice-presidents of Goody's (some of you may know the chain), but it would have meant lots of long hours and stress, and I knew I couldn't handle that on top of school. Was feeling so down about things and REALLY wanted a job at the university so that I could attend classes tuition-free. FINALLY, through lots of contacts with professors in my program and an assistant dean who pulled a few strings (yes, the higher-ups do help) I got a job in the same college of my degree program, and I started the day before school began. Talk about stressing out up to the last minute! It all worked out from there.

It's good to reminisce and see how far we can come and land where we are today. I told Courtney a long time ago in a post that when she got out of Arkansas and into school she would FLY, and I have every confidence that she will.

Good luck and hugs to you both!
