Hello our lovely friends. As you may have gathered, we've been missing in action this week - we took a wee vacation to Amsterdam with a couple of our lesbian friends....and we had a ball!

OMG. Well then, glad y'all made it home safely!

Btw, I've agreed to accompany my sis on an "educational" trip to Amsterdam next August. You gotta tell me where the Hot Balloon is so I can check out all of those *giggling* ppl, k? LOLOLOLOL!!!!

I can't wait to visit the house Anne Frank lived in either. I know I'll probably get a little chocked up too, but it'll be a great experience I'm sure!

Ohhhhhhh Loubie, I have been to the exact place you described. I know what you mean when you talk about the feeling from seeing Anne Franks house. It was just as she described it in her diary. I remember seeing the marks on the wall still, where they measured their heighth while staying there and the photos she hung on the wall. The wall paper fading. The attic.

And I remember walking through the town square and the shops where you could by your smoke etc., and the sidewalk performers. I just loved Amsterdam. I didn't want to leave.

I went there while I was stationed in Spain. I hope that I can get back there again someday with my sweetheart.

Your trip has brought back some wonderful memories for me.

Thanks for the low down.

Laurie

Have you been to Africa. If not, you must go! Stay in one of the hotels on the Mediteranian.

Loubie, in the photos, which one is you and which one is Nony.

I am guessing you are the one in the short hair. Yes?

Thanks for sharing your trip with us. I love the photos too.

Ohh My!~ What beautiful pics and what a fun sounding vacation ...
I would love to visit Amsterdam!.. So lovely looking.. Sounds like our Northampton here as far as peoples and quaintness and feeling comfortable being yourself.. But the smoke shops?.. I dunno if there's any of those.. If so they may be hidden down stairs below in some shop..
I am envious green

You know Pam, you can now get some incredibly cheap flights from here to Amsterdam, so I'm sure it would defo be do-able if you wanted to go see it. When you decide what dates you're coming we'll have a look at dates and flight prices and stuff :)

Sadie, you'll have a ball I'm sure! As for the Hot Balloon...well, there are plenty of places like it ;) All you need to do is look fo a place that calls itself a 'Coffeeshop' (as opposed to a cafe etc)...there you'll find a whole array of things to enjoy ;)
