For those of you who like k.d. lang, I highly recommend her newest release, Hymns of the 49th Parallel. I've been listening to it on Rhapsody today, and it's beautiful stuff!

I love Leo Kottke!

And Alison Krauss, and Gillian Welch.... so much music, so little time!

I'm nowhere good enough to play their kind of music... but I can pick a bit, and I have rhythm.

That is why I stopped... would get jumpy, and my heart would race... no enjoyment in that.

My favourite Kottke song is "Pamela Brown." I can remember in college having it run through my head, and that is like 28 years ago. I saw him two years ago, and he was excellent.

Does seeing him perform earn me extra points? Now Pamela Brown is going through mah head... guess I owe it all to Pamela Brown...

Piano is my personal favourite. Had I ever taken music lessons, that would be my choice. When I listen to Tori Amos, her piano playing pulls me away from whatever I am doing.

Well... This is so much fun and motivating.

Where and when did you see Leo live raye?

Kim the new keyboards come with built in computer lessons. You even are graded on your lessons. Anyone can actually learn to play. It is excellent just find a good one with authentic sounding instruments. And a long enough keyboard.

If we all lived closer we would have to form a band. The Whenever the he-- we have time to play LL band.

DO you think?

nursepam and the ll express?

I saw Leo in Manchester, NH... think it was in 2002, though it could have been 2001. We also saw Natalie MacMaster play there, and thus might confuse the dates with each show. I think Natalie was 2002... so maybe Leo was the year before. BTW, Natalie puts on a superb show if ya like first class fiddle playing.
