For those of you who like k.d. lang, I highly recommend her newest release, Hymns of the 49th Parallel. I've been listening to it on Rhapsody today, and it's beautiful stuff!

She really is a wonderful person. A bunch of us gathered in Georgia last year, and CAR was one. She has been very supportive of me. I feel badly for her, she is from a family that had lots of money, and she preferred a quiet, much less flashy existence. Her husband had nothing, and is very driven, so they have this huge house she *hates*. There is an old cabin on their property, and she spends a lot of time there reflecting and relaxing. A very very special person.

I would absolutely love to go, Kim... goddess knows I need it. Yet it all depends on when work starts, and taking care of things here. If it is at all possible, I will be there.

When I watch someone play, it isn't to critique, it is to enjoy what they are graciously willing to share with those there.

I'm thrilled you encourage her. Such talent comes from one's soul, and it immediately changes the mood to something very peaceful. It's hard to describe, but would say it goes from one soul... straight to another.

I had mentioned a friend singing for me... her partner plays piano, and wished to learn guitar. For her 21st birthday 2 years ago, I sent her one... now she is learning to play, and maybe one day will hear her do so.

I'm sure we all have artists to share... and it is nice to hear what others like. My favourite cd is "Poem" by Delerium, it features many different artists doing vocals. It is so very peaceful... some of the Poem cd's have "Silence" at the end, some don't. When I hear Sarah McLachlan sing that song, it never fails to give me goose bumps. The lyrics...

Give me release

Witness me

I am outside

Give me peace

Heaven holds a sense of wonder

and I wanted to believe

that I'd get caught up

when the rage in me subsides

In this white wave

I am sinking

in this silence

in this white wave

in this silence

I believe

Passion chokes the flower

'til she cries no more

possessing all the beauty

hungry still for more

Heaven holds a sense of wonder...

I can't help this longing

comfort me

I can't hold it all in

if you won't let me

Heaven holds a sense of wonder...

In this white wave

I am sinking

in this silence

in this white wave

in this silence

I believe

I have seen you

in this white wave

you are silent

you are breathing

in this white wave

I am free

Just sampled a couple, and I love it! I'm gonna be so broke!

I also discovered Harp 46, new age harp music group...very nice to play for background music.

Oh my gosh! My therapist just told me yesterday that I need to find some nice relaxing harp or guitar music to listen to and that they might even let me listen to it during my surgery like they did her to help calm my anxiety.

Where can I find this music?

Nice to hear from you ting, this has been a fun thread for me. Thanks,

Laurie

Cute Kim,

I have been doing the same thing at the iTunes store for Macs. My g/f had to put a limit on me until pay day today.

Have a nice day,

Laurie
