For those of you who like k.d. lang, I highly recommend her newest release, Hymns of the 49th Parallel. I've been listening to it on Rhapsody today, and it's beautiful stuff!

That is amazing, Laurie. I can relate to a lot of what you post because I am bipolar too, just mildly though. Music is definitely calming to me and helps me let out some of the emotions deep down inside. One of the special things about my relationship with Caly is that we can share our passion for music with each other.

I found the harp music on Lycos Rhapsody, a subscription service that allows you to search for and listen to tons of songs by tons of artists. There is a monthly fee and each track costs .79 to burn I believe. The cool thing is that you can burn a CD with a mixture of songs, so you can customize it just the way you want to. I found this harp group (I LOVE harp music)

Ting, thank you.

Yes the music seems to work really well for me when I need to calm down. My therapist makes a lot of relaxation, sleep tapes, and etc, for me. I love to listen to them when I go to bed. My g/f likes them too.

She does a lot of guided imagery with me. I really love it because it is something that I can easily take with me and have anytime I need it. (Except while driving of course) lol.

I have learned so many techniques from her. I just love my therapist and therapy and group, much to my suprise.

The meds I do not love. I still have not found the best cocktail for me.

I am also lucky to have such a great support from family, g/f and close friends.

I have also made some very close friends from group.

I am going to have to have that harp music. I'm glad to hear you found are friend Leo!!

Thanks,

Laurie

If you are looking for relaxing music, try Delerium's "Poem." If you buy it, make sure the last song is "Silence." It's not only peaceful, but uplifting as well.

I found both Harp 46 and k.d. langs latest (Hymns of the 49th Parallel) at my iTunes store. Sampled them both and loved them both. G/F said I can buy both tomorrow.

It will cost 9.99 per CD. No minthly fees though. If you have a Mac you just sign one time for Apple membership and can buy/download just about all music and software to the Mac.

I can't wait!

Thanks,

Laurie
