Survived the first week back :P

Well, I've gotten through my first few days back at school and, I have to say, I'm relieved. I wasn't looking forward to it at all, but have been trying to stay positive in my attitude. I still have some real issues about some stuff there...but I'm trying to focus on coping with my classes. They're gonna be tough this year - I have more than my fair share of low ability teens this year and I know it's going to be hard work keeping them in line. But, I can at least say that I've made a decent start...even the class that is going to be the toughest was reasonably okay for me both yesterday and today...I got a full lesson's work out of them without incident. A miracle methinks! LOL!

Anyway, I'll just have to see how it goes over the next few weeks - haven't met all of my classes yet...and they're still in their docile, just-back-to-school mode.

Just thought I'd let y'all know how it went.

Hope your week had ended on a positive note, my friends, and that you have something nice lined up for the weekend.

Love, Loubie

Hey Loubie, it's great to "hear" that things went well for you back at work. I'll be going back to school in January. I know how the docile back-to-school mind is. I have to find out everything like classrooms and meet my instructors and meet other students. It's going to be fun, to start with, but soon, and this is only normal, it will be getting on my nerves. But for the outcome,(I'll be studying for a Bachelors in Human Services)I'm willing to go the distance. Anyway, congratulations on your first successful week back.

Hugs.

Hugs,

Sebastian

Loubie, you are an inspiration to me. I will not back out of my surgery.

As for teaching... You have to be a special person to close yourself in a room full of teenagers all day, everyday.

I am glad to hear that things are getting better for you.

Hugs,

Laurie

I'd bet you are a dynamite educator, the most underpaid and most important profession in the world. I've no doubt those kids are in great hands... (though I'm going to sneak in and teach them a few of my old tricks.)

Hello's to you and to nony, and enjoy your weekend!

Thanks so much for your wise words, Pam. You have been such a support to me over the past year or two re. the horrible situation with my employers - I really appreciate it
