I'll probably risk being banned, but hope those that monitor such things stop and realise this sort of discussion should not be prohibited.

I am perfectly willing to take iV surveys, and just clicked on one that popped up. So I start answering questions... gender, age, and then... sexual orientation. When I answered that one (and assume most here know how I answered it) a message popped up "sorry, but you don't meet our criteria" or some such nonsense. It actually asked if I were gay, and because I am... it said "so sorry, not needed!" Now maybe it was a survey on het relationships... but if it was, why limit it to het relationships? I for one would love to see someone explain this to me. The way the closing was handled... as I recall this was a survey on sexuality... just made me feel devalued, and that is something I will not let pass silently any longer. I'm not jumping to conclusions, and will await a response before making any judgements. My personal feeling right now is that it was simply designed in an insensitive manner, but we shall keep an open mind.

Too often our community is deemed less than, or not deserving of being viewed as equal... now it is likely there is a legit reason for this, but think someone should make an appearance in front of this community and give that reason.

BTW, many thanks for the well wishes, I have been rather knocked back on my heels, it's been a rough couple of days, with good and bad moments... I will respond once I find the strength to talk about it. *hugs* to you all!

I can agree with you about surveys, Raye, but I don't let whoever is rating these surveys make me feel less than the good person that I am. I know that I belong to this village because, it let's me express different sides of myself.

Usually when I do a quiz or a test and it refers to the het relationships, I just ignore it and I just think in terms of a lesbian relationship. I try not to take the language too personal, because if I did, I wouldn't really be involved with this website. But since I've found LL and LI, I can't imagine not coming here.

Hugs and you're welcome.

Hugs,

Sebastian

((((((((((Raye))))))))))

That was very rude. One would think that they could at least come up with a MUCH more sensitive and aware closing message.

(Just have to add though, when I opened this, Ithought it would be a complaint just because the survey popped up. I have pop up blockers on my computer and on Kim's, but at the office - nope! And those request to take a survey pop ups are about to drive me nuts!)

As a person who writes surveys for a living, I'll offer that your being rejected was a benign consequence of specific screening criteria.

I'm glad to know that some people actually think about these things.
