I went out to my car this morning out of the corner of my eye to the right, I saw something huge. I turn to look, and it was one big honkin Moose, in my 10 yrs. there hasn't been one this close to the house. He sauntered from the backyard, to the lower yard and went ganglying up the road, he was huge, antlers, I am 5ft, he had to be much taller than that. Of course, camera is in the house, darn, what a picture that would have been. What an awesome early morning sighting!!!!!

rofl! My home was in Auburn, NH... 6 miles as the crow flies from downtown Manchester, NH. The house was 1/2 mile south of a mile long pond, 1 mile north of a sizable lake. We would see deer often, usually out behind my home. A couple of times the got real close... we had the moose, have had bear (lmao... had that typed as 'beer.' Yup, have those too!), fox, etc. Our bed was under a 4 foot skylight, and every morning at dawn (in warm months) you would hear a loon as it traveled from pond to lake. I absolutely love loons, and miss hearing them. One of my daughters, and forget which one, was able to do a great loon call at like 3. We also have fisher cats, which are not friendly to puddytats.

The area is protected... it is the water supply for Manchester, you can't swim in either the pond or lake. Our first dog jumped up on a rock once, did not realise the other side was not like the side she came up on, and so she made a 6 foot leap into the pond... took her a couple seconds to surface, she went down deep... was funny, though I doubt she thought so. We also had a nice assortment of tweeties, from gold and purple finches to woodpeckers (very pretty) to cardinals and an Oriole or two.

No tweetie feeders starting in spring. Bear love them, especially suet. Black bear are cute from afar, and are afraid of people, but... if you get between them and a cub, or if ya tick em off, and they have very short tempers... they also move faster than we do. Moose are not to be messed with either, they can charge.

Since you didn't get a good night's sleep, are you sure that you couldn't have been hallucinating in front of the bathroom mirror after applying moouse to your hair? :)

LOL

I'm picking with you, so don't get serious or upset.
