This is an SOS to any and all members in Conn.

Gracemae is stuck in Cheshire, the idiot garage in Vt. screwed up her transmission and she is stuck in Cheshire until next week. She asks if anyone can come and get her, she has no money to stay at a hotel and eat. She also has her dog with her. She called me bawling her eyes out, is anyone able to help her ?

TIA,

Robin

Wow! What happened to all her money robin?
I hope she did not pay for the car before it got repaired.
Maybe she should call the police and ask for help if nobody can get to her.
She must have had some cash to travel with. She could use that for a hotel and open an account at a national bank then pay for the car when it is repaired. I will look up the gay hotline or someone for her to call that might be able to help her if nobody from the board is there to help.
Trying to think of something and I will get back to this thread.

The money she has with her has to go to the new transmission.

Tell her to call the police for help and then use the cash FOR HOTEL AND FOOD FOR HER AND HER DOG. (sorry for hitting caps button.)
Open a bank account near the hotel with her check from selling the house.
Call her car insurance company for a rental car or she might have to rent a car on her own, or find a hotel near where her car is and a bank and grocery store and restaraunt.
The police should know what to do and where to take her. Or at least they should know who can help.
Tell her she will be fine. They will help her.
And send her big hugs from me.
I will send you my cell phone number in an e-mail so you can call me if you want. I am sure we can come up with something. I am sending my cell phone number to your auntierobin e-mail.
She can call me to if she wants.

OMG! Why didn't we think of this?! It sounds like a perfect plan.
Good thinking Lori!
Robin, can you pass this on to gracemae if she calls back. Do you know the hotel she is staying in? Can you call here there?
I hope she has her cell phone charger with her.
Hugs,
Laurie

She's calling the churches right now. She has a HUGE problem, no banks will cash her cashier's check because it is from Vt. so she has no money at all. This means the car can't get fixed and she has no where to sleep. She is talking sleeping in her car.

I feel like crying :o( accually I am

Just a suggestion...She may have to resort to going to one of those check cashing places. It is their business to cash checks so I think they will take just about anything. They will probably want a % but if she's in a desperate situation it may be her only option. I wish I was closer so I could offer some help.

Aready gave her that idea, no check cashing places near her.

I just talked with her, the garage that is working on her car has worked out a deal with her so her car will be fixed !!!

She is going to be brought to a hotel to sleep, so she is doing ok. I'll keep y'all posted.

HUgs to everyone,

Robin

Oh Gracemae, what an absolute nightmare! Nony and I wish we lived somewhere near enough to mount a rescue operation...I swear, we would take it shifts to drive until we got you and your doggie to safety.

It's not much, I know, but we're praying and sending you billions of angels to carry you through this.

Take care, hon, and stay safe. We're thinking of you.

Love Loubie and Nony xxxx
