I voted today!

I voted today after I left work. This was my first time voting ever! It took about 10 minutes. I expected it to take much longer. Anyway, when I began to approach the building, three men stood waiting.

One asked, "Have you voted before?"

"No, this is my first time." I responded

"Are you 18?" another man asked

"Huh? I'm way past 18." shocked...I responded

While inside the building, I first had to give my name and address. Then, I had to wait in line for my 4 digit access code. While I was waiting in line, one lady sitting at the booth told a woman, "Get in behind him." She was referring to me. LOL Well, about as soon as she had said that, she realized I was a her. She began apologizing to me. She said that she was sorry at least 3 times. LOL

I have my hair cut very short. hehe Plus, I had on a sweatshirt with army pants. I could see how she might have gotten a bit confused. :)

To vote, I had to use this machine with a dial and buttons. Well, first you had to enter your 4 digit access code.

Okay, I'm probably boring everyone now. LOL But, it was my first time voting. And, I couldn't share this with my relatives because they are Republican.

Cheers!

Oh rj!! Congadulations!! And thank you for deciding to vote this time.

I am the only Democrat in my family except for my Mom will sometimes secretly votes democratic if the Candidate is handsome enough, lol.

She once told me "Don't tell anyone, I voted for Clinton, he's much better looking." Like she's picking a horse for the first time.

I think I am in trouble this time because she thinks Kerry has a horse face, so I said, "so that means you'll be voting democrat this year?" She didn't get it.

I think my Dad is the only republican in Youngstown, Ohio. I always tell him, "I don't know where he went wrong, but I still love him even though he is a republican, I just wouldn't leave him alone with childern."

Now, about the "him" thing. You said you look to femme before. I guess you took care of that. No? A good looking "him" I am sure.

Take care rj,

Laurie

Just a reminder Cat,

When you go into the booth you have to yell, I am the great and wonderful wizard of oz. Then when you come out of the booth you say, er, pay no attention to that man.

Don't forget. RJ didn't have to do it because she has a special pass code.

Yayyyyyy for you too lee,

Hugs,
Laurie

Lol Pam,

I have been getting bombarded with Kerry jokes in my e-mails so I am always looking for the good Bush material to send back.

Mad Dad just doesn't understand how anyone can be a democrat. I don't know how I can be anything but democrat.

Oh well,

Hugs,
Laurie

Wow laurie... I just clicked on your home town web page and read some words by you that I have expressed quite often in my past!..
The words about freezing moments in time.. About others that were here can still be here through pics..
I always said every spot around us holds a memory from some person.. The space we stand in at some moment was once shared by another and will probably most likely after us be shared by a new other..
Pictures use to be my passion

Thank you so much Lee.

Yeah, I know what you mean about someone standing in a place where someone else once stood before them.

So, I am glad to here we share that passion. I know for some people a photograph is just a snapshot to be thrown in a box and forgotten. I have gathered all my families photo's even some back to the civil war. I hate to see them wasted in a box.

There is so much more to photography than snapping a picture. It is nice to know that other people understand that.

I hope that you will find that passion again. I take a camera of somesort with me everywhere I go. My digital video camera is broken and I feel so lost without it. G/f say's I can get a new one the first of November.

I still love my 35mm cameras but I am really working hard on getting a handle on the digital cameras too.

I hope that you can regain some of you passions that you lost with you Ex. They are part of the you that you are.

Take care and thank you.
Laurie
