Can't seem to get a break...

G/f came home and found me out at the kitchen table, could not wake me up. She checked my blood and it was high but not sky high. When I did wake up I was in a confused state and sluring some of my words so g/f called 911. It turns out my blood sugar was high, I was dehydrated, had a fever and I have bronchitis. I had to spend what seemed like forever getting IV'S etc. and now we just got home so I have to let her get some sleep while I let the doggies get tired again.

I new I was coming down with something, but just figured it must be a little cold. This just has not been my year.

I feel much better after the IV's and my blood sugar came back down.

I guess I got a tad grumpy because they kept insinuating that I took to many meds or alcohol so I owed an appology before I left. But I felt so insulted when they did not seem to want to believe me. I guess I told them to shut up and quit insulting me. (I am sure g/f was not proud.)

The one nurse rolled her eyes at me when I told her that I did not drink or take to many of my meds and that is what set me off. I just usually do not talk to people like that.

After they did my tests, she appoligized and so did I.

Oh well,

Hugs,
Laurie

Awwww (((((((Laurie))))))). Glad you got this all figured out!! Finding you out on the table must have been horrifying for your gf.... and sounds like what followed wasn't much of a picnic for you either! It seems wrong that the nurse would continue to insinuate you'd overdone something. You aren't well, and hospitals CREATE anxiety.. on top of your high blood pressure (!) , geez hon, you were bound to react! I like the double apology though :)

Here's hoping you're feeling much better!

Oh Laurie, are you feeling ok now? I am so sorry! Did you tell them you were trying to quit smoking and that you were smoke free for the first time in many many years and maybe that had something to do with something? Well, since you have bronchitis I guess you picked a great time to quit! Keep us posted, and get some rest and drink lots of water! Hugs, Sandra

Hi Sandra,

I told them that I had quit smoking for the day, but they did not think it had anything to do with it. I have had this cough for a few days and been feeling a bit rundown.

I do feel so much better now from before I went to the ER. It seemed like the more IV's the better I felt. My heart rate etc. is still out of whack when I go from laying, sitting, and standing. And with my blood sugar back down I feel more oriented.

Fevers seem to kick my butt too.

I hope I am getting all my ill's out of the way so I am healthy next year.

I used to always be so healthy until I got this diabetes.

Now it seems I can't get healthy for long. I just have to be very strict on my self.

Thank you for your post.

Hugs
Laurie

{{{{{{{{{{Laurie}}}}}}}}}}. I was wondering what happened to you Sunday. I'd be grumpy too if I was accused of doing something I know I didn't do. Laurie, please take care of yourself. Blood sugar is nothing to play with. I can understand about nurse's that have no compassion and don't have to ability to "hear" what someone is saying.

Grrrrrlllll. {{{{{{{{{{{Laurie}}}}}}}}}}}.

(((((((((Laurie))))))))))) I'm so sorry you're not doing well this week. What an ordeal, but I'm glad the IVs made you feel better. Sounds like you have an easy day planned. Take care of yourself and keep up the good work on quitting smoking.

Thank you to everyone for your kind words.

I am feeling better than the other night. Just have to get over this bronchitis is all.

G/f is off today and tomorrow so we got up to take care of the dogs and went to breakfast and plan to spend a nice relaxing day together.

Thanks again,

Hugs,
Laurie
