Great article. I think I've found my very first activism case for Houston! (Link to the website provided at the end of this article)

"I'll try" is just a noisy way of not doing something.

Interesting Article sadie...
My~S~ had an experience somewhat like Caly's as she entered a restroom while I waited outside of it.. An older woman took one look at her and started to speak in a tone that was fear and disgust saying "Your A Man!" I'm going to get security".. Well ~S~ told her very irritatingly that she was not a man....The Lady then said she was sorry but.. Haaaaaa.. Yeah but ..Like that made it okay...

Sadie,

That was very interesting. Having done several glbt comedy shows in the straight comedy clubs this subject always comes up. The staff used to try to tell people they were going to the wrong restrooms. I did and awesome comedy bit on it one time at our local comedy club a couple years ago.

The staff was getting a kick out of it and everyone is comfortable with it now.

They also said they always volunteer for the gay show nights because they are tipped well and their stations are always left immaculate by the customers.

It has always been a sell out here and any other state I have been to for these shows.

(We only do them once in a while.)

That article is very interesting and I usually don't even give it a thought unless we are taking over a comedy club or something.

I know some of my straight friends will use the other restrooms if they have to go and do not or cannot wait. When you gotta go you gotta go.

It is something to think about. Some over seas restrooms are just public and not gender specified.
