I have been itching to go out and have some fun since I had our daughter almost 4 months ago but Brandi doesn't want to. She just wants to stay home. I don't want to get stupid drunk or anything but I want to dance and have a few drinks. Her aunt wanted us to go with her last night (she is gay also) but Brandi didn't. We didnt even have our kids! Would have been perfect. I am so bummed out about it. I realize I am a mom but I want to play a little! How can I convince her to go somewhere with me? She doesn't like to dance adn she really doesn't like crowds so what do I do?

You both deserve a night out. I think its a huge part of what nurtures a happy and healthy relationship, especially when you have kids. If she doesn't like a big party scene, how about getting together with a few close friends, or even just the two of you, and going to a nice dinner, a couple of drinks, good conversation and lots of laughs? Would she be open to something like that?

mandi, I don't like crowds, or dancing either so I can relate to Brandi well. Since you have the urge to get out of the house, which is understandable, take the advice you were given here already and find something that you both enjoy. Hugs! Sandra

I guess she is a sucker for Italian food! I could always do that. Hmmm, sounds good. Thanks, Mandi

Well, we aren't "going out" but we have a date with Brandi's aunt and her girlfriend on Friday nite! She e-mailed me with the "menu" she made it look very formal with before and after dinner drinks and after dinner activities like poker or other games and a fire in the fireplace. she even said to bring clothes so we could stay the night in her guest room w/a queen size bed and our own bathroom... I only have a full at home! sounds like a ton of fun. she has never really wanted to go over there... dont know why but I think it sounds great! the kids will be just down the street at brandi's mom's so I can party like a rock star. wish me fun! ;>}

Mandi,
That sounds like a fantastic evening out to me. Sometimes we like doing things like that even better.
Maybe she will start having a good time and feel more comfortable going out someday.
I hope you have a good time and please do not forget to report back to us all about your evening.
Hugs,
Laurie

That sounds like a great compromise! Have a great time out - sounds like party time! Be sure to come back and let us know how it went. I think you'll both have a blast.

Hugs!
