Hi ladies, how is everyone? and I hope you all have a nice week-end. most of you know my/Lori's tales of Bob the cat. He was bought for my youngest as a xmas gift from Lori 3 years ago. over the years and more so this last, Bob has become my cat. I know I sound like a little wimp, but Bob and I have been through alot together. When-ever i am down, he head-butts me, , when-ever he is down I head-butt him!!!! I swear, that cat can smile!!!!! Bob has one quirk though, when he is up-set, or things out of wack, he, ummm uses his kitty-litter, AND my futon. He will be good one week, then in the morning...well you get the picture. So tonight in our local paper, their is a 'free to good home' ad. In fact, when Lori and I went for our coffee run this morning, there was a msg on my machine. I panicked and erased it. I told myself, next phone call I will be stronger. Okay time to cuddle with my baby, take care all, and warm and toasty you shall stay, Sandy

awwww, give him time, he's just a kitten, you have to train him to use the litter box. I know how you feel, I had to train my cat, when she was a kitten. It's not hard. All you do is take him to the litter box, rub it's paw in the sand or whatever your using to absorb his urine, and poo-poo, and he'll get the idea. Just be patient. I know how it feels have a cat curl up around you, butt his or her head up against you, or just sit on your stomach while your sleeping or whatever cute to annoying thing that they do. Please just be patient.

Hugs and meow to your cat.

Hugs,

Sebastian

I don't know about Canada but in this country "free to good home" is like an invite for "bunchers" They come looking like the nicest people and take your free animal and promise it love.....when they are done picking up all from that days/weeks paper they are turned over to labs for $5-$10 a piece to be used in experiments. NEVER place an animal as free! Even $5 cuts into their profits so they wont go for it.
Poor Bob....Poor Poor Bob

I like Pam's idea of checking out the Cat board for tips on how to handle this problem. Perhaps he is sick... or he wants his litter box changed more often... or you said he does this "when he is up-set, or things out of wack", some animals, like some people, have a really hard time dealing with change. Perhaps his not using the litter box is a sign he needs some extra TLC.

I joke quite a bit about Kim's cat Snickers. He bugs me when I'm sleeping, he doesn't seem to like me much and he throws up quite a bit. I tease quite a bit about him on the board. But in all reality, I love that cat, just as much as I love Kirby-kitten. They are both a very big part of our family, and if one of them was having accidents often, got sick, or anything else, we would work very hard at fixing the problem... not giving him away... free... to any person that happened to come along.

Hi Sandy,
I agree with gigi,
I would give him time. He is getting used to a new place and all the company etc. SO it is kind of expected that he might have this little behavior thing going on.
Our dogs will make mistakes now and then too.
We have all kinds of cleaners handy.Kennels can refer you as to the best cat cleaners being used today.
You could also try getting another littler box and put it where he is mostly leaving his little calling card. My sister had to do that with her cat when she moved and we were all coming and going to see the new house.
If it is a new behavior also he could have a kidney infection, cats are very suceptable to those just from stress alone.
Hugs to you, lori and bob.
Laurie
