My M.I.A. status explained...

We had a great Thanksgiving. The next morning all TOS hit the fan.
I came down with the stomach flu via Sheila's employees we think. It is going around her store like the plague.
Then Sheila's Dad had to go to emergencey for an infection in his leg. He is an amputee from the knee down in the other leg due to Diabetes.
Today he had emergency surgery to try to save this leg. They took a vein from his thigh and bypassed one in his lower leg. We will know more in a few days, but he made it through surgery which was scary because of his heart condition.
I have had some calls to do some video/photo/editing work for people for Christmas.
One of the jobs takes me an hour out of time for each taping at an elderly ladies home.
She wants to do a tape to leave to her children and give it to them for Christmas.
One is a Church that will be ordaining 6 Reverands at one time. Another jobe is editing and correcting a photo with a poem for family members who lost a loved one 2 days before Thanksgiving.
And I have found a Grant Writer who will write my grant proposal for a documentery film I have been wanting to work on, but just do not have the moneyto do it. I was going to write a book, but I think filming would be much better in this case.
I have found several subject to participate and share their stories. I really do noy want to sat what it is yet, but she believes I should be able to obtain this grant.
I will have alot of 'splainin' to do for this grant. I have positive support from many professionals who want to see this project completed and turned me in the right direction for a grant. So, maybe there is hope for me yet.
The General Mgr of the comedy club want me and some other comics to help out with MCing for the club because the pickings a slim right now for local talent.
I am starting to feel like me again!!
I still need to call the people in Houston for Beth. I will do that this coming week.
So there you have it. We have had a jam packed week.
I need to catch up on the board so please bear with me.
Hugs to everyone.
I am sure Lee/Cat has missed me terribly. She is probably a mess right now! Haaaaahaaa

Thank you for your kind words.
I am 100% better.
Worried about Sheila's Dad. As Dad's go he is alot like my Dad, you know? The real Dad, sweet as they can be, always supportive.
We are hoping the leg can be saved. He has always had the hope of walking again and now this. It is very sad.
I hope the grant works out as well. I have alot of support for the project. I have talked to several professionals about doing this project and all seem to feel it needs to be done and they will support it and allow me to interview them etc.
The work I am getting is very uplifting for me. I need to get back to doing things or I think I will truly go insane.
I can't really call it work because I love it so much. :)

Yes the families are keeping us busy. My parents have her parents on some prayer lists at churches of friends who do prayer groups during the week. (Sweet)
We are concerened for both her mom and dad since caring for Sheila's dad has been pretty tough on her mom. They will have to get some in home care now. There is no way Sheila's mom can do this alone. We are concerened for her dad since the hope of walking again has kept him going. I guess we will know in a day or two now. He is much like my dad as far as being one of the nicest guys you could ever know.
It seems that the flu is going around here. It kept me down for about two days. I am 100% recovered now.
The work I am getting is the best thing for me, not just for the money but because I love it so much. It really does energize me. I need to have something to do and this is just the thing for me.
I am excited about the grant, but I won't get my hopes up to high until I actually see it. I can always write about the subject instead. I would just prefer to have it filmed. We have a local station that rents equipment to people who want to work on projects. They give training on equipment etc.
Part of me wonders if my own equipment would be a little more dramatic though. Maybe it would have more of a "film" look to it. I just want to keep it real.
I read the post about your visit with rj. How fun!
I can't wait to meet you ladies IRL. Sheila keeps up on the board so she feels like she knows people here too. She is just not one to sit at the computer for a long time.
