WOW!!! That sounds wonderful! I am glad you had a good time! I am so ready for a vacation! You make me even more ready for April to come so I can go back to the bit of Heaven in the Ozarks! Mandi
I doubt I would have a hard time getting use to that atmosphere! Wow, sounds like my kinda place, and I would not feel awkward being a bumkin from the south either - I'd be too busy enjoing it! Glad you got to get away from the roomie from hell, if only for a moment.
I'm really glad that you had an awsome time during your treat. I can understand what you mean about luxurious surroundings. It sounded like the hotel that I stayed in back in October. I'm telling you the way that you described the hotel that you stayed in for two days, sounds sooo nice.
You do deserve to be given the best, because of the things that you do for others.
Hmmmmm, funny thing... I just turned the heater up before sitting down to the computer. Sounds like a wonderful time! Now tell us which items you took home from the hotel! lol. I'll bet you said screw the little soaps, I'm taking some nice hangers and a goose down pillow! Haaa. Did you leave the mouse and keyboard. I can't believe it is 80 degrees there, it seems so far removed from wet, freezing Indianapolis. My dogs don't even want to play outside. Glad you had a good time Pam. Hugs,
It will be 32 for a low here tonight. We've had some strange weather this past week. Thunderstorms! And, it has been in the 60's. But, next week is suppose to be cold! burrrr.
I like running in the cold better than the heat. I always put 50 spf on my face and neck before running during the summer months. After making the 3rd mile, my face would feel like it was burning. I ran one July day when the heat index was 100. After the 2nd mile, I threw up. I never got a sunburn, but it was like the heat from the asphalt was burning you. Sometimes I ran at the Y indoors. During the summer months, the Y doesn't air condition the indoor track. It would get around 110 degrees. The staff would put up signs warning people. I would run. Whew! You want to talk about shake and bake! I'm serious when I type that by the time I finished running, my underware was as wet as if I had placed it under running water.
I like running anyway. It doesn't matter if it is hot or cold. But, the cold is easier. Some people complain that the cold makes their joints and knees hurt. So far, I don' t have that problem. Main thing I must do when running outside in the cold is put chapstick on my lips. Otherwise, I get chapped lips. I think that I lick 'em too much. LOL
Hi rj, I hate, hate, hate to run. I once was running in the Navy for our PT test and a luetenant got in my face, she thought she was tough making people run faster because we are timed. She would not back off, faster, faster. I said, I think I am going to be sick ma'am... she said just keep running faster, I threw up all over her shoes. Neither of us were happy. We were in Spain and it was 100 and some degrees. Nobody wanted to be running. She made me keep running too. So the next quarter, I decided I like to swim, so why don't I do the timed swim instead of the run. Well it is a mile swim and it is timed. Needless to say I was wishing I would have run. I just stuck to swimming from then on though. Running always makes me sick and have a pounding headache the rest of the day. So I salute you my friend. Hugs, Laurie
Thanks for sharing your story. I know very little about military life. My dad was a Marine, but he didn't talk about it much. He served in Vietnam.
I run for different reasons. But, I like to run. The biggest reason is for exercise. But, there are other reasons as well. When a woman has hurt me, I find solace in running. It is like I can release the pain. When I'm lonely and want to have sex, but have no one to date, I run. It wears me down and makes me more relaxed and less vulerable emotionally. I'm closing my eyes. Let me live vicariously through you for a moment. Ahhhh...that was nice!
Awesome Pam. Simply awesome.
And even the young man who brought me my car and packed my luggage in the trunk was delightful.
Well, that's a good thing. You didn't need to be lifting your luggage again!
I checked out their web site. I've decided that I want to dine in their Wine Cellar. I think the Wine Cellar exudes romantism.
Here we go, I'll have this for breakfast:
Belgian Waffle, Mixed Berry Compote, Vanilla Whipped Cream (

We have a apocryphal family tale that has always tantalized me Mandi.
