Hi all, the job search is fruitless so at this point I have decided to put it off until the first of the year. I am register with employment office, but quite frankly they are not helpful and yes, Kim , they have services to help with resume and such, but no career counselor. I have my resume on several internet sites and search the papers daily to no avail. I think it is the time of the year and no one is hiring. I have been searching very hard and put alot of hours into work search, I utlilized what ever networks I can to put the word out and can't do anything more than what I am doing. My resume I am told is great and I interview well, but when applying from a ad in the paper, you are competing with many others applying for the same. I know there is something out for me, but will take time.
I am not able to work nights or weekends, there is no transportation available. I was only checking out the career search folks, and will not pay someone that kind of money. I have even applied to some nanny positions that are live out. So something will come up within the next 2 months I am sure. The dog and I are doing well.
The person who was suppose to pick me up for church Sund. didn't show, and neither did any one call from the church, so I have decided not to go back.
If you are running around looking for a last minute idea for a gift, here is a really good and yummy idea, it is easy to make.
Truffles: 3 cups of semisweet choc. chips, 1 can sweetened condense milk, and melt on stovetop low heat until smooth, once all melted, remove from stove and add one tbls. vanilla and mix. Place the mixture in the fridge for about 1 1/2 hr. bring to room temp. and roll into balls, will make exactly 6 dozen truffles. Use your imagination for toppings, I used crushed peppermint, nuts and conf. sugar. Place in petit size paper cups, . They are yummy and people love them. Enjoy!!!
Hopefully, I can get back online in January. Everyone have a great week! Take care, gracemae59

My heart goes out to you! I skimmed through your message. Forgive me. I'm a bit short on time. I've skimmed messages before and gotten into trouble with boardies. Hopefully not this time. :-0
I'll be meeting with an instructor after the first of the year to discuss resume' preparation and job interviewing. He is a good guy. He has taught this concept and has an 85% success rate with those he has taught. He is suppose to "rip apart" my resume'. I'm ready to be ripped and torn. LOL Some people take it personal. He has had people to become angry at him in the past. I told him that I knew I had much to learn, so I doubt that I take it personally.
I first met with him in early November. Something he told me that stuck out in my mind was this...He said one of the biggest mistakes people make in job hunting is only developing one resume'. He said that you should tailor your resume' for the job you are applying for.

It's just as well that you give yourself a bit of a break right now.
