goddess... five plus years of that is an awfully long time to be trapped in such a hell. This has got to work for you... lots and lots and lots of good thoughts headed your way...

I was just telling some people at work that I barely recognize me anymore.

YAAAY Pammie! I'm so excited for you.. you really should have been out of that house long ago. And I want to know, do you have some sort of plan for telling the roommate? Any chance she'd be satisfied with a months rent and no notice? *grin*

Brilliant idea. Though it would be nice if you could somehow record the state of the place at the time of your move. That part about 'twice the amount' sort of worries me and I'd hate to see her go vindictive and completely trash the place just to see the landlord after you. There are folks out there who don't care about declaring bankruptcy, which could leave you liable for EVERYTHING you ever signed on with her...

When the bank crisis in the late 80's hit here, one of our neighbours, by all accounts nice people, lost their home. When they moved out, they totally trashed it, ripping out stairs, sinks, etc.

Good for you Pam!
you have a viking goddess and a V.I.T. (viking in training) ready to help if the need arises!
A home of your own...what an absolutely wonderful thought!
