Sheila's father ended up needing a blood transfusion Thursday evening.
The weather is bad and we have decided to stay up here in Elkhart Indiana through Christmas and visit with my family at another time.
Sheila is wanting to spend more time here with her Dad.
I am thankfull for my family. They are so understanding and said not to worry about a thing. They have called daily to ask how Sheila's father is.
Sigh... one day he seems to be doing a bit better and the next day something else goes wrong. Sheila is such a kind and loving person and this has been rough on her. She keeps thanking me for being here with her. I would never think of not being with her through this or anything else for that matter.
Tonight/lastnight as they were preparing her Dad for his blood transfusion, I held his hand and told him we love him and want him to get through this. He squeezed my hand so tight and said that I was so pretty and that he hopes he is not to far gone to get better.
He and her Mom have been so sweet to me and always treat me like family. It is sad and hard to watch him suffer like this. He is such a sweet man.
Christmas is about family and I am really seeing how blessed both Sheila and I are with our families. They have always respected us as any married couple in the family. We are just so blessed and I needed to say it.
Hugs to all From Sheila and I,
Laurie

I think that you are the best person in the world. I am so honored to be your friend, please hold on. You seem to have a wonderful wife (yes, I know what I just typed). She seems to be one in a million. You also have been blessed with two wonderful families, treasure them both.

The both of you need each other at this time, hold on to one another. The both of you will pull through this, just keep coming back here and sharing with us as to what's going on. I hope you still have my phone number, call me if you have to. Please, if I'm not home just leave a message. Or, I'll scan my email, to see if you've left me one, just don't go away.

Hugs to the both of you.

Hugs,

Sebastian

Holidays are about family and sharing time with others that you care about. I'll keep Sheila's dad in my prayers. Life is so fragile that we should cherish every moment that we have with those we love. I'm glad that her family welcomes you so. But, you are a wonderful person- they would be crazy not to like you!

Big hugs!

IMO, it seems you are very attached to your new family and them to you. Continue what you are doing. Something you have done or said has this family trusting u which is fantastic. I'm so sorry for the father's failings but as we get older this is what happens. Good luck and hope he will be healthy again for your partner' sake.

We're thinking of you and Sheila, her family and in particular, her father's health. Hope he begins to do better very soon, that he can come out of hospital and get back to enjoying his life. You can have all my christmas wishes this year.. if it'll help :)

Continuing to keep you and Sheila and her Dad in my thoughts and prayers hun.

It made me smile when I read what you wrote about your family being so understanding of you needing to be with her right now and how they have always respected you as any married couple in the family.
