well I have a confession to make and well it could be long post(warning everyone,lol)....well someone in my family(female).....had a "friend/roommate" for like 7 years??? a very long...they were never titled as girlfriends....my family member and her friend are probably around the age of 42???I am 30 as you know....well to make a long story short I have been around my family member and her friend all these years and well have always been secretly attracted to her friend.......not sure how she sees me...me being that much younger she may just view me as a "kid"....My family member and I don't really get along at all...and well sometimes she says things that well she says things with an air about her that well it comes out like a put dowm.....anyway about ????7 or 8 months ago I suddenly hear that she is moving out....getting her own place...my mom and people knew it ,either I was to busy or no one really let me know. She seems to be going out often(maybe dating) ,mentions a lady often(who is younger then her, maybe in her late 20's)...well..I have become somewhat friendly with the family member as one of her parents is sick and I help a great deal...her friend came over today while my mom,my brother and myself were visiting them. She hugged my brother, then pinched my arm...I could tell I was supposed to hug her but I just didn't,maybe I am afraid to touch her, afraid then maybe she would know of my crush, since I am not a huggy person .. maybe I should be a huggy person(have thought some of that lately,lol).....she hugged my mom and everyone else....I would like to talk to my brother about this, yet he is semi-friendly with my family member...he mentioned on the car ride home how the friend still looks great, does not show her age and how she has always been attractive to him.To make matters worse she lost a pet two weeks ago and I know she could have used that hug...maybe she can sense the crush???I have no clue....I would love to get some info on her..maybe her email or something ...some way to befriend her and well maybe with her not knowing who I am to see what happpens and how she would respond to me...without knowing I was a "kid" so to speak???One day at a family reunion my family member made a comment(I had a rainbow sticker on the car and beside it a sticker that says "mom knows ")she made the comment yeah right...in front of the friend,so the friend knows I am gay.....my family member is really a hypocrite....what does everything I should do????thanks for the advice....and hey MERRY CHRISTMAS...Hope everyone got the gift they wanted.

Well Jo, I know that you're not a huggy person, but that's just you. As far as the attraction goes, I would pull her to the side and just talk with her privately. Just tell her how you feel about her. As you know, there are women in this community, that are in relationships where there is an age difference, and there doesn't see to be a problem (at least there haven't been too many complaints). So, give it a chance!

Just a suggestion.

thanks igentle and well the set back is the way she is linked to the family...my brother and I went to see a movie tonight(meet the fockers)...and in talking I just asked what was up with the family member and her....he was clueless yet said "rember they were dating back in 1988.....etc etc ..."I am thinking there move is just a way to maybe just be dating again for whatever reason they may have???they still see each other some, are involved each others lives.....I think maybe it's just a crush and well the holidays are sometimes lonely????thanks again for your thoughts.....Jo
