A Fun New Year

I went to a new years gay mixed dance for new years and volunteered afterward for cleanup. I met many really great women who I hope to be friends with.
The thing is that they are all older then me, I'm 24 and there all over 30 and up, I'm cool with this but when a couple of the single ones were talking to me I noticed a slight interests that they squashed really quickly.
Now I am single and have given up looking for a partner right now anyway so It didn't bother me on that level.

My question is what is up with this reaction I keep on getting from older women, I have always been considered old for my age and that includes reading the same things they do and having more in common.

So does this mean that older women will always dismiss me because of my age? and what is the fear that I sense about it.

I know no one probably has all the answeres here but any info would be great:)

p.s. Happy New Year Everyone:)

Hi Lady!

I'm really not sure what the issue could be for those women, maybe you are just reading more into it then is there?

hi lady and welcome to LL....

Nurse pam and CAT know me here as the local sandbagger and every now and then I pop up to write in my 2 cents worth...

just wanted to let you know that you are not alone in liking older women. i began dating at 16 and have always been wit hwomen older than myself. my ex g/f was 15 yrs older than me....

i began working in the correctional health field 3 yrs ago and met my present g/f there. i wasn't really looking for love at that time but about a yr ago BAM..... right there in front of my face, i fell head over heels in love with her.

now comes the amusing part... I AM 12 YRS OLDER THAN SHE IS !!

seems that she prefers older women too. sometimes i find myself asking her if our age difference bothers her and her response to the question makes me smile every time....

"honey, don't you know that women are like a fine wine.... they get better with age!"

hang in ther lady, cause there is someone out there for everyone!!

Hi ladygold, this is Gigi.

I have a girlfriend that is two years younger than I am. I'm going to 40 the 26th of this month and she will be 39 in May. As has been said before, by Caly and Deb, Age really shouldn't be a factor in how you love someone. I think it's all in the attitude and maturity.

I have always fallen for women a bit more "maturer" than me. Even though I'm not in a relationship with them now is because we have decided to part company, but we're still good friends. There used to be a t-shirt and a bumper sticker that says: Love sees no AGE. And I believe to be true.

Happy New Year!

Hugs,

Sebastian

Just my two cents for what it's worth, lol
I am 30 and well there is someone for everyone...maybe a few someones...I did meet a lady who was in her mid-30's....I have always dated younger and thought well things maybe things would go better for me if I dated an older lady or at least closer to my age,I firgured it would be a better chance at something that would alst more then 8 months....she had a lot in common with me yet was dis-honest with me.....I find that alot of people my age and older don't take me seriously....or have nothing in common with me...I am 30 and look 21...I listen to kid rock, linken park, limp bizkit, ludacris and all kinds of music(loudly)lol....I have tattoos and body piercings...I just feel some ladies can't see past that...I like my via la bam, south park and playing my playstation2...yet I matured pretty early on...moved out the 1st time when I was 16....and feel now I can be a kid at times (why be serious)....yet I also am mature....It is also location for me though....not the most gay town you'll ever find....outsiders(my brother and all) agree very much...I think younger ladies are very attracted to me...so whatever works,lol....I think we can't say one way or another...I don't swear every 40 year old doesn't take me seriously...there are open minded people any and everywhere....just the luck of finding them....I think that is all luck and being in the right place at the right time,or begining the right conversation at the right time, making the right new friend at the right time....I don't have any hang ups on age,yet do know some people who do(gay and straight)....My best relationship...she was 23 ...I was about 26....I think,Ladygold, that things will be okay and well maybe it was cause you had just met them,....good luck,jo

Before I read everyone elses reply I just want to tell you that I am 35 and my girlfriend is 18. I don't know what she sees in me, but I am obviously very lucky!
Age is just a number my friend!
Sandra
Edited to add: We have been together 8 months. One month I left town, she actually waited for me, without even knowing when I was going to be able to come back!
