Well awhile ago I applied for a job at the college where Kim works. Way back in early November. Well apparently there was some confusion as to who's job it was to actually hire for this position. And the confusion remains, so here we sit almost two months later and not only is the position still open, but they haven't even interviewed anyone for it yet. Meanwhile, we had some friends of Kim's over to the house on New Years Eve and while they were here, we got around to discussing how I still haven't gotten a job. Lots of applications out, a few interviews under my belt, all for nothing. On Wednesday, one of the women called Kim and told her that a similar job in a different department had just come open and that the supervisor there had requested all the applications from the previous job because she was just going to hire out of that stack. Well this friend of Kim's works in human resources and manages all the applications. She told Kim that she hadn't had a chance to take the applications over yet, so I should call the supervisor, introduce myself and tell her I had heard about the job. I did and she asked me to come that afternoon for an interview. After a lengthy interview process with her and her supervisor, they hired me that afternoon. I spent all day Thursday getting my paperwork in order and started to work on Friday. Huge relief. Thanks goodness for such great friends!
I work 8 - 2:30, five day a week, which are really great hours, as soon as I adjust to the early mornings - blah. Its doing office type work mostly, with some research for the
