Know what Court, that sounds fabulous! It already sounds easier than what you were doing in Radford, and with that experence under your belt, perhaps this immediate supervisor will be a piece of cake for you to handle. (The way you've charmed us all here, no doubt she'll be putty within a month anyway ;)
Three cheers for YOU~~~ HIP HIP HOORAY HIP HIP HOORAY HIP HIP HOORAY!!!!
Lou and I are doing fine over here. We had gale force winds today, blew roof slates off one of the houses opposite ours! They sent out a fire truck to do a safety check and under one helmet I spied a female face.... hubba hubba!
I've got exams next week and am supposed to be working right now
Way to go Court!!!! Sounds like a very good rung of the ladder for you to launch your career prospects, hon. I hope that it leads to some wonderful opportunties for you. You certainly deserve it!
Thanks so much Nony. And thanks for asking. I'm really enjoying my new job. With just over a week under my belt, I can see why this woman goes through assistant's so quickly, but she is a zillion times easier to manage than anything I was having to do at Radford, that for me, this job is a piece of cake. Plus, she sets the standards of work ethic so low that with minimal effort on my part, I've already managed to wow her, the dean, a vice president of the college, most of the faculty and staff and several other people that I have come in contact with. Just by doing the basics of my job. So really, its a cake walk. Plus, I have time for lunch with Kim every day. I'm off work around 2:30 every day, have time for a quick stop at the grocery when necessary and then home by 3. Life is good.
It was good to hear an update on you two. A female firefighter, eh? Hubba hubba! Gotta love a woman in uniform! I hope you got those papers all finished and aced your exams! I'm sure you did fantastic.
I can totally sympathize with the McJob syndrome. Ya know, I got so desperate before I got this job that I put in an application at Subway. ~sigh~ Talk about swallowing your pride... Its hard when you get to the point of needing a job so much, that you feel like you are having to settle. But I think too
