Bush said what?

I was drifting off to sleep watching a Bush inaugural speech, of course...Then he said something at the end that perked my ears.....Did he say "Liberty for all Americans"?

He is such a liar! How can he stand there and say all Americans, when he is soon going to exclude us by changing the constitution. Are we not Americans as well? I believe he should have said "Liberty for all Americans homosexual exceptions apply". Or maybe "Liberty for all non-homosexual Americans". Does anyone out there in straight land not get what he is going to do?

Did any one else listen to his speech, who was not falling asleep? Totally dismayed!

I will be looking for it. You have my e-mail in this thread in a post to halo.
You are right rj, I do not judge because who am I to judge.
I just do not like people judging people.

Hi Halo,

I watched the inaugaration as it happened and I swear it was all I could do to refrain myself from throwing every dish I own at his smug, pretentious face. I truly truly despise that man and the fact that he is in the White House again has truly amazed me.

He's the most bigotted, hypocritical, two-faced lying *%%$^*#((&%&*%*% I've ever had the misfortune to be governed by.

His stance on gay marriage was not the only thing that turned my stomach sour when it came to him.

He's an idiot, a little shrub that thinks he's going to be the best thing since sliced bread. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

He gets me going like nobody's business!!!

It's going to be real interesting to see what the next four years shape up like. I have a feeling my ulcers will flare up again!!!

(Sorry, but that man makes me CRAZY!)

Oh I can relate to that one. The first pride I attended was here in Alaska and when I saw a Trannie riding the back of the biggest butch looking queen ever, with a whip, and spurs on her shoes, I just about fell over. I could only think, no wonder we're compared to Soddom and Gomorrah, why people immediately think all the derogatory things they think about us. The stereotype can't help but fit when you see things like that. We were picketed, police were in force. It was a side show from hell. In Alaska of all places, and this state is very tolerant, but reserved.

I couldn't believe it!

Hi Halo,

Surprisingly, as a civilian I do understand the concept of OPSEC lol. I live with a former military woman and we've talked about it in depth. If you feel comfortable, know that it won't go any further with anyone that you don't specify. If not, I do understand. I've never been very involved with politics, but Bush has galvanized both Chris and I to become much more prominent in our "community."

We have to do something, because I have a bad feeling Bush is going to try his best to undermine everything the GLBT community has worked so hard to achieve. I refuse to be made a second class citizen. As an American, I have rights regardless of my sexual orientation and as long as I am making the Treasury's coffers fat, I will be heard.

GRRR he makes me mad!

Girl your too funny! So sorry it took long to post. I cooked a Turkey dinner for the kids and I, and my son has been on line.

The secret is with Laurie and I. When the time is right, we will definitely let people know what has to happen. OMG your in Alaska! Not sure what you can do from there? Laurie can think of a task for you so you can be involved. I was at Fort Greely once; beautiful state.

I totally agree with you and Laurie about our past representatives in the Gay Pride Marches. People like that are great in the bars. In public we need to have better representation. If the general public sees us only as badly dressed clowns, then our fight will be harder. If only those people can put the gear away, and really help us get our rights. Then they can go back and dress however they want.

As far as Bush goes, have faith. He may be our leader for the next four years, but, he still has to convince the American people to stop us. I'm betting that we can do a better job fighting for our rights, and he will have to concede.

Need to run,

hugs to you and Laurie

I completely disagree with everyone who's said "no wonder we have a bad rep" in reference to gay pride parades. That's exactly the kind of attitude which will get us no where because it pits us against each other. If we resent the people with g-strings and whips, we're no better than the people who resent us all. We have to be accepting of homosexuality in all its forms. It's exactly this kind of taboo that we need to get EXPOSED not hide! That's like saying, you can be gay but only if you're gay this certain way. We won't change who we are because it makes someone else uncomfortable! It's exactly like the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy which was discused earlier. It's ok to be gay as long as we do it quietly? Heck no! We have their heterosexuality thrown in our faces everyday. It's time to throw a little back.

I can understand your feelings Ellie, but I have to agree with what the others said.. If most of what is witnessed by straights in a gay parade is this very open and yes perhaps free to be themselves dressing and acting, well I can see how it can only feed their minds..There's a place for such dress and such displays of sexual things.. In public.. on parade.. to me is not the place..and does not help the cause... I don't think it should pit people in these lifestyles against one another, but
